Day 46 My Grownorthern HS1 LED crapped out.

Tech support responded fast, that is good. But no easy fix yet, that is bad.

I find it annoying that a $500 light is failing after 2 months, yeah I am grumpy. I felt like just letting the plants die.
Then I read some grow journals here and saw the awesome harvests of HBSS!
Gotta keep trying.

So here is my emergency Ghetto setup, a blinding 140 watts actual. Go ahead, laugh.

That is 5 CFL table lamps for $40 including tax.
Lets see if any of them last more than 2 months.

as long as heat isn't an issue, you could double up those cfls with "y" type light sockets from a hardware store or a "Mart" store.double the light. this is why I kept all my cfls and fixtures. good to have a back up plan lol. and I found the same thing with my HBSS. they don't seem to need much as far as nutes. heck of a super crop bro

Heat might be an issue, gotta buy a bigger extraction fan. I completely forgot about "y" type sockets, that is helpful.
She is recovering slower from the 3rd Supercrop, maybe stressed her too far into flower.

My Sour Crack spent the best part of their lives under just 150w of CFL, more watts the better for sure but more importantly how they are positioned more so with a big girl like HBSS, try to hit her all around with as many bulbs as you can by using the Y connectors ElSam mentioned you will get even better coverage from one power connector, just get creative and try get even coverage all over and i think you will be suprised how much you can get from some CFL bulbs.

Thanks Spanglish. I will buy more CFL lights. Seems like I should try to get up to 200 watts for HBSS.

On a happy note... I broke some minor stems while revamping the grow room so I can offer my first....

HBSS is yummy, the young flowers are soft and very pleasant to eat, lightly fragrant. I could eat every flower on the plant right now. You could add flowers and chopped leaves to a salad...just say it is gourmet Arugula. LOL
The flowers would make a nice garnish, better than parsley

Sour Crack leaves were gritty and bitter, and hairy like a cats tongue, but I only ate the older leaves. I never ate a cats tongue. Relax PETA, no cats were harmed in this Chew Report.

DAY 52 The plants is LOADED with flowers. And 4 nice colas are filling in. she is a little late, but looking good. I understand why this is Margahooja's favorite, but it is hard to capture with photos.

The third supercrop is holding her down. That is a lot of damage to the main stem.

Stubborn plant, just would not stay down. She was pulling the strings loose to stand up. (maybe I tied crappy knots)
