Mephisto Genetics Hubbabubba K.I.S.S. grow journal

We generally keep our plants fed relatively simply, and never too heavy on nutrients.

The first 2-2.5 weeks is plain water only.
Then previously it was only liquid organic grow and bloom in various ratios depending on the stage of the grow.

Now we have switched over to biotabs, with amended soiless medium and they receive plain water only.
Similar to a supersoil approach.

It's never happened for us here (problems with late sexing) but.. There was one case some months ago where a guy was having trouble with his hbss, and I believe it was N tox related which caused a delay in flowering.

It would be nice to get a definite handle on this issue so we could update our description to say it's something to be wary of.

Cheers, Mitch

Interesting info there Mitch my local growshop has started stocking the BioTabs and have been considering them when i buy my next batch of nutes as i am running low on Bio Bizz.

You might be onto something with the N tox idea as i am sure @Grim Reefer mentioned in his thread with the other HBSS that is late sexing that he had been correcting N tox in that grow also.

Thanks Mitch, she has had a rough life: pH too low, nitrogen too high, soil too wet. If she hermies it is all my fault, not the seeds.

Maybe she she wants some extra veg time, Grim Reefer said his plant is on day 36 and no pistils yet.
I wonder how late flowering affects the senescence timer.

She will make a tasty salad if she hermies!

It blows my mind sometimes when I see the comprehensive lists of products and additives in combination that people are using.

And it's taken probably 3 years of us playing with different combinations of a few products in order to really nail down a very simple method we can pass on and recommend to our customers but I think we've almost cracked it.

Also for us, to be working with a high number of plants all often at different stages, it makes sense both in terms of time and cost to have a water only method.

It's super rare for us to encounter any problems, if any at all. And that's not to brag or boast at all.. After all we are many years and thousands of plants deep into our auto journey now.

Well this is embarrassing for me... My EC meter is way out of calibration and I have been over fertilizing. You are right, the nitrogen was too high causing leaf clawing. I just couldn't believe it until I saw the first tip burn yesterday. Now I feel like a moron.

My Mephisto plants tolerated the abuse like champs, but there is a limit to how much any plant can take. Hubbabubbasmelloscope should recover just fine. Hang in there girls, I'm gonna wash those salts right out of your hair.
Well at least you figured that out before it was too late.

Day 28 24 inches (61 cm) I see pistils!

She is growing like a teenager that just inhaled a whole refrigerator. And she just started to drink heavily, happy times.
Live it up baby, you are about to be supercropped

when these shooy up, they really go all out! looks like you're on the right track:thumbsup:

Thanks for the encouragement Elsamurai. I am really surprised how well she recovered from early abuse, she grew another inch overnight. She is up aginst the walls of my little grow room, that means she is 60cm wide already!
