Hey TaNG, thanks for your concern.
I have added more CFL, now at 200 watts. I hope that is enough for HBSS.
The HS1 is working at 30%. I think I explained that explicitly in detail with photos over here:

It might only be 25%. Hard to estimate until Grownorthern gives us a reference point or my Watt meter arrives (that was your suggestion, and a very good one.)
The light output is so weak that I have it 15cm from my Tyrone Special Seedlings. Photo coming today, stay tuned. Maybe I should move it closer. I figure at 30% it is at least as good as 50 watts of CFL.

I notice you mention money in $ can I assume your mains supply is 120v and you have been using a step up transformer? Or am I way off? Lol

Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but it seems like you are posting on my Grow Journal calling me a liar.
I took it in the nicest possible way and responded politely.
But you come back suggesting that I damaged the HS1 with a step up transformer.
(I have 220v from the outlet, no transformer)
I think you can go too far defending Grownorthern.
I am not using lights from Grownorthern's competitors to finish my grow. I am using generic table lamps with CFL bulbs.
I am not badmouthing Grownorthern, I am sharing my experience. Isn't that what we do in Grow Jounals?
Call me a liar in private if you need to, but not on my Grow Journal.
Maybe you made a typo (I do it all the time, sometimes I edit my clumsy writings many times). Maybe you had something else on your mind or a tough day in the grow room.

I am fond of you but some posts made me feel like I was dealing with a jealous girlfriend... following me around, watching every detail for proof of infidelity, inspecting photos, looking for clues to build a case. Well surely you have better things to do than badger a newbie on his 2nd grow Journal.
I have been here just over two months and EVERBODY including you has been kind, generous and welcoming and encouraging even when I make mistakes ... until I had problems and questions about my Grownorthern HS1.
You never showed any interest in this Journal until I had problems with the HS1. Then suddenly you show a mighty big interest and play Sherlock Holmes with my photos and start digging for evidence. That is creepy.
It seems like the only reason you posted in my Grow Journal was to defend the HS1, trying to show that I am lying about its problems or that I damaged it with the wrong voltage. Yes, you phrased both questions carefully but the accusation was there. "have you stopped beating your wife, Or am I way off? Lol?"
Why are you doing this, what is in it for you.

Hubba mate I think this thread is great I'm sure gn's customer service will sort out the hs1. And may be what tang has said has been taken out of context a bit let's just watch some mephisto girls reach maturity and enjoy the ride
