I will try to get one of the mods to respond, would that make it easier to believe me? How about this, these were grown with 2700K CFL only besides a few hours of actual sunlight... white dwarf and some bagseed I LSTed...

I have had many successful grows with florescent bulbs. wish I had more harvest pics for ya...

Damn thing double posted...

Oh yeee!
This is the problem with I face it too.
I heard many things about CFL technology, and read many reviews, and see many contradiction.
I think about this problem too:
http://www.autoflower.org/f5/first-time-home-box-grow-need-some-advice-2155-7.html#post39995

But no one can tall me exact what is the bulb conbination, what the plant (and I) need.
I think i will buy 2 bulb set, one 2700K and one 6500K. includet CFL-s in the sides. start with more daylight (6500K) and 1.5-3 weeks later slowly change the bulbs to 2700K.
Is that plan wrong, or it maybe functional?

P.S. :Sorry to write my problem in your topick , but as I see we fight with the same problem already.

That's a great way to approach your grow NewHope! Switch things up as it needs it, it's mostly about being able to read you plants and learning what their needs are should come in time... Don't expect your first grow to be perfect iLuvIndica... Mine sure wasn't, but I learned a lot of valuable stuff, and no matter what you can always use the CFLs for supplementary lighting once you get some big guns! :howdy:

Thats right Man! Nobody is born with the skill to grow plants. Need to learn it, and need experience.
Sorry I'm not want to bee rude...
But I think plant growing is like sex :P :D :head:
You want to do it, after you try to do it, and finished you know how to do it!! :D:jump::pimp:

You definitely want more 2700 then 6500.... Your plan to start with the 6500 and swap them out with the 2700 after a couple weeks is good. I would still leave a couple 6500's in the mix though for a more complete light spectrum.

I have no experience with autos and they are a little confusing since they start flowering so quick but I do know if you want good flowers you want 2700 with a little 6500 mixed in.

Spot on StumpJumper!

+ rep by the way...

Hold on there guys, It all depends on the type of lighting...Switching works with HID, not so much with T5 or CFL. All depends on the intensity of the light. Such as HID. -vs- T5/CFL

So what ya all need to do is pick the lighting your going to use and then ask somebody who uses that light. Otherwise, like you are, you will keep getting conflicted answers. Thus keep getting more and more confused....

Are you basing that on autos only? Because with regular photo strains and CFL's you veg with 6500's and flower with 2700's and a few 6500's(optional) mixed in for best results. You can use 2700's to veg if you want lanky plants though. I have grown with everything from CFL's to 1000w HID's. Assuming you are only talking about autos, you say switching works with HID so you mean vegging with a MH and then switching to HPS.. if that is the case it is no different than switching CFL's from a 6500 to a 2700.

It's not about the intensity of the light, it's about the color spectrum the plant uses during various stages. You know that. :P

Defiantly auto's only...I'm pretty sure the auto's don't really use the spectrum as mush as the intensity. Auto's will flower regardless of color spectrum. They will just be smaller. Photo's must have the different color spectrum's to go through it's stages, your right there.
But auto's just flower. Regardless of spectrum. That's why there called auto's. Try putting one in front of a normal light bulb. It'll still grow and flower. It might look like shit, but it still goes through it's life cycle. Unlike a photo....
