I have a grow tent in an insulated garage, but I live way up north and its hard to keep the tent warm. This past winter was pretty cold and I had to run my HPS lights and COBs and an oil heater for most of it, and that was expensive. So I'm looking to insulate the tent now. Could even help in the summer maybe.

I know I could buy some insulation material and put it on the top of the tent and even find a way to strap some on the walls. But I was wondering if there is a better idea.

I would make a box out of this and put tent inside.

It would be nice if a tent manufacturer would create a "cold weather" tent. That probably isn't cost effective, but it's a nice thought.

Those panels are 20£ for 4 X 8 you could make a 4' square 6 feet tall for £100 or $140 that would withstand the Arctic. Just need the poles on the inside for hanging lights.

I have a 8x8 room built from 3/4 insulation board 750w heater keeps it warm. I would imagine that would work. Gorilla tape will hold it together and it also works great for making hinges! Board cost me like $3 a 4x8 sheet

I picked up some insulating batting I guess its called. Put two layers, about 8 inches thick total, on the tent roof. Its light so it's not going to collapse the tent. And 3 inch rigid insulation under each pot. I'd like to find a way to insulate the walls of the tent next. The rigid board would be best for that with duct/gorilla tape like you said.

My tents in the loft and I have the same problem M8. I'm gonna try a heat may under the pots to keep the roots warm.. as soon as I get the large gorilla glue that lives there out of the way!! I haven't got room around the tent to put any insulation board.. hope it works out for ya :d5:

That's right the heat mats might be good for heating the substrate/roots. I bought 4 of the mats for that kind of thing but they run too hot. Going to get a variable controller for them one day so I can reduce the heat and use them under plants in the winter. Hope it works out for you. They should work but be careful with the heat. use a infrared or digital thermometer to check what the temp is at the bottom of the pot.
