New Grower Hope She's Gentle. It's My First Time! - Think Different

Day 32
72° - 83.8°
Nothing new going on right now, except that I found out that I've been following my feed schedule incorrectly, and have been under feeding my girl! I feel like a major jack ass right about now, but I appreciate that being brought to my attention, Jayar! So, I'll be ramping up the nutrient amounts, but splitting it up between days, instead of giving it all in one dose.
Tucked her under the net for the first time today, and it tripped me out how, a few hours later, she looked like she was already striving to go vertical again! I was told that that's what would happen, but I didn't take it seriously until I saw it with my own eyes. I swear I'm learning new things, and discovering new things about this plant every day! Once again, folks, I appreciate you guys sticking it out with me. Y'all stay cool, and be eazy.

Just a thought, GB, I like splitting my feed schedules so every watering has a dose in it. So if I water twice a week, it's two half doses, instead of one big one. That lets me tweak things... a little more here, a little less there, and if I'm going too hot maybe just some cal/mag or a shot of molasses in pH'ed water.
That's the cool thing about growing, Brother. No one way is the only way. Like my Nana used to say, "Don't be afraid to take that thing out and play with it". Oh, wait, that wasn't granny....
I've had great luck using GA's pH chart to figure out where I need to be:
PH Calculation Guide by GoAuto6

Rough Calculation Guide:

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

this dude.

Might be cause I'm tired or might be cause I'm dumb, but according to that my soil pH was about 1-2 at one point. (Starting pH 7-ish, run-off around 4-5)
Did I miss something?

I'm sure Red can explain it much better than me, but I think you may have he formula he is using wrong. I'm no expert, and this formula is new to me, too, so I won't even attempt to explain it in detail. If you want clarification, you probably wanna ask Red, because I'll most likely screw it all up. "Aloha"
On another note, bud sites are starting to pop up, here and there, and my lame attempt at scrogging seems to be working a little bit. At least I think it is. Well, I hope it is...
So yeah, I'll post up a pic, or two, and you guys can critique and give pointers, and let me know where I'm fudging things up!

The runoff formula is a rough calculation. What you are trying to do is get a rough estimate of what your soil pH is. So to make it easy, if your feed is 7.0 that you water with and the runoff is 8.0 then that means your soil is about 9.0 because the 7.0 is buffering the 9.0 down to an average of 8. Maybe that makes sense, it doesn't the more I read it, lol. But basically you are taking an average of your feed water and your runoff and calculating the mean or what your soil is. It isn't very accurate but it is the easiest way to measure.

Here is a method if you have time and want to really know what your soil is. It is called a slurry test. Basically you take equal parts soil and distilled water that is a perfect 7.0. Say 1/4 soil, 1/4 cup distilled 7.0 water. Mix these together and take a reading. That is exact. You want your soil to come from as close to the root ball as possible so this isn't something I would recommend doing every time but if you are seeing some problems then it may be worth pulling a sample out to test and be positive of what your runoff is.

Day 33
Temp Range: 76.6° - 83.8°
Humidity Range: 41% - 53%
Nutrient Solution PH: 6.1
Soil PH: 6.4
Runoff PH: 6.8

So, after finding out that I was massively under feeding my girl, I went ahead and gave her some nutes today. She got 3 ml per liter of both Grow A&B, 2 ml per liter of Multi Total, 1 ml per liter of Take Root, and about 3.5 ml total of CalMag, all mixed in 3 liters of water, which was PH'd after the nutes were added.
I'm still pretty amazed at how, once the main stem is bent under, she works so fast to correct herself and go vertical! Had to tuck her again today, and, soon, I'll be tucking other branches. Hope I'm doing this whole SCRoG thing right, though. If you catch anything I'm screwing up on with it, go right ahead and point it out to me, please. I'm all about learning, and you guys have been doing a great job helping me out with it. [emoji111]

Looks like she's loving life! :)

What up, Trap?! Nice to see you back in this neck of the woods!! Man, if you only knew!! Shit got kinda rough for a while, when you was gone, and she had me whining, and acting like a bitch! I ain't gonna lie, bro, I was getting all kinds of emotional because there were days when I just knew she was a gonner! Yellowing of the new growth, bottom leaves yellowing up and dying... shit was getting ugly, man! They helped me through it, though. Medi, A4, Renaissance Red, Muddy, Jayar, roark... and many more all jumped in there with me and made sure I brought her back to the light! Yeah, she's looking better now, and as you can see, I'm making a clumsy attempt at getting my SCRoG on, too! LOL! Oh yeah, somewhere in that novel of yours, I remember reading someone talking about how you used chopsticks to do your leaf tucking. Best believe I have 3 pairs sitting atop my grow cab, and I been putting them bitches to use!

Yo bandit. Lookin good man. How high from the base of the plant is that scrog? I can't tell in the photo. Got new pics up. Is the stem real firm or still flexible?

Looked at those pics again. Yeah she looks hungry!!

The net is set up 12" above the base of the plant, and yeah, she was hungry. I misunderstood the schedule I was using, and was giving her the recommended doses per feeding, but only once a week. Got that problem addressed, though, so hopefully she will bounce back strong!
