New Grower Hope She's Gentle. It's My First Time! - Think Different

my 2 cents....

just a little heat stress....nothing to worry about and will improve as she gets bigger.

Once again, you come through like a champ! Thanks, Trap. I can relax a bit and rest a little easier tonight!:jump:

Day 12
Soil PH: 6.8
Height: 3.5"
Temp Range: 80.4° - 89.4°
Humidity Range: 33% - 49%
Watered her with 2 liters of water today, PH'd at 6.2, with the addition of 2 ml of Take Root. PPM levels read 095, and the resulting run off had a PH of 6.3. I've been checking the PH level of the soil daily, but was advised against that today, as this could cause damage to the developing root system. I let her set in the sunlight for about 3.5 hours, put her in the shade for another 1.5, then returned her to the cabinet after raising the light up 3.5". Tonight, I think I will change her light schedule from 24/7 to 19/5 so she can start getting some rest in the evenings. Any opinions on the change of light schedule at 12 days old?

Personally, the only reason I would come off 24/0 at this early stage would be to counteract the hottest part of the day and gain a couple degrees in drop with darkness at that specific time of day. Just my 2 cents. The faster you gain size right now, the more "established" the plant is going to become...you want to get away from the dangers of early stage as quickly as the plant can. Soil inclusive nute burn, heat stress, damping due to over watering...all those problems become less of a factor, the bigger your plant gets.

Looks great, BTW...starting to spit out new growth at a nice clip, as it should. Just a little bit of uncurl to the edges, like we said...heat stress. Not a biggie. Less and less of a biggie, the bigger she gets. :)

Damn, Trap!! How in thee hell is this only your first grow?! You're the walking, breathing, equivalent of the cannabis section from the Encyclopedia Britannica! You're rizza razor sharp when it come to what to do, when to do it, how to do it, why to do it, yada, yada, yada. Seriously though, you are good, bro. What would you suggest would be a good time to cut back from 24/7? Also, next week She'll be 3 weeks in, and I'm pretty sure the nutrients in the soil and perlite are tapering off. Hiow will I know when to start feeding her?

Well, it has yet to be determined what percentage of shit I'm full of. Just giving you my opinion :)

I would switch once it starts flowering in earnest.

After a full three weeks, I'd introduce a small amount of grow and Cal/Mag. What nutes are you running?

Waiting until she starts to flower makes plenty of sense, and that's another bit of advice coming from you that I'll take to the bank!

I'm going to be running the Dutch Pro Auto Flower Nutrients, which includes the Bloom (A&B), Grow (A&B), Multi Total, Take Root, and Explode. Decided to go with this line because it is designed specifically for autos, and a lot of the guesswork is removed. I started with the Take Root and Multi Total last week, and followed up with another helping of the Take Root yesterday

Day 13
Height: 3.5" (just a bit under)
Temp Range: 78.4° - 87.4°
Humidity Range: 37% - 55%

A day after watering, and giving her some Take Root, she's looking like a beauty! The leaves are really starting to take off, and I can even detect a slight bit of funk when I put my nose right up close to her! One issue, though. I really hope I'm just having another uncalled for freak out moment, but I noticed a couple specks of discoloration. One right on the leaf tip, the other on the flat part of the leaf. My first thought was nute burn, but I haven't started her feeding schedule yet. I'm hoping she just has a couple beauty marks that will add to her character, but I'm guessing it's not that simple. Anyone have a guess as to what might be going on? I'm all ears...

You can nute burn without having added any....the youngin's can burn from the feet's inclusive to the soil.

It is, in fact, a non-issue...as she gets bigger and bigger, she has more mass to deal with these little variables. She looks perfect....even the edge/upcurl is subsiding :)

Duh! I was so busy running nightmare scenarios through my head, I didn't even bother to think about the obvious! How the hell I managed to forget about the nutes that were already in the soil, in addition to the nutes in the perlite is beyond me! I gotta dial back the sensitivity on my panic button! Trap, you're like a therapist up in here! I'm chill, I'm chill... it's all good once again.
