Day 21 .... High Temperature 96.3* / Lights 18/6 16" above canopy
Showing minor signs of heat stress but doing well just the same .... When I arrived at the grow this morning there were no visible signs of sex ... six hours later they were flashing their knickers for all to see ... Watered w/ CalMag+/Silica Blast/ Wet Betty ... a little molasses and Epsom salts ... unless the heat retards their flowering they should be ready for a flower tab in about a week ...
Hi chester i grew NLBB on my 2nd grow .Some of their phenos get pretty tall.Real nice man ,mine never looked that good.I,m surprised how well they are doing in the heat.I can,t wait to start growing again. You is the man dude.Peace.
Looking pretty nice even temps so high. Im haveing also heat problems temps atm around 87-88 so im very happy to see that bubble doesnt spook little heat as testing same strain Also thank for photos about useing hair ties, after seeing your results i did go straight to ebay and ordered 400pcs .. So watching! keep updating
Hey chester all the gurus on other sites say the ambient temp. should be 68 to 77 or you will get heat stress.yours seem to be doing well, when you think about it not many places have that nice of weather, certainly not here in texas.Keep on growin brother.I guess the circulation is key.I,m stoked for you man.If you don,t mind i,d like tag along for the ride.I,m going to start my first super soil grow when my soil finishes cooking.I,ve got lots of seeds to choose from..Peace.
C'mon along robbio ... my best conditions are far from perfect ... I used to grow in Upstate NY ... perfect sun and temperatures ... I've found that plants can grow in higher temperatures as long as they aren't too closed up ... as temps go up so does the need for CO2 which is a pain in the butt to supply other than just keeping air moving thru the grow ... I hope to get a break in the temps during flower cause too high causes airy buds and can mess w/ the trich production ...
Chester, if you go to YouTube and do a search on "DIY Air Conditioner" you will find various versions of an inexpensive DIY build that may help your heat problem. I made one of these units a couple of days ago, and though I wouldn't give it an A+ rating, the unit definitely does blow much colder air out than you can achieve by just using a fan alone.
On a side note, the unit requires that you freeze large jugs of water, so you have to make sure you've got enough freezer space to do that. Also, (as I unfortunately found out), when you freeze milk jugs of water, (or similar containers), be sure that you leave the cap off. I made the mistake of capping mine, and several of the jugs burst at their seams because water expands when it freezes. I didn't think of that…
It's been hotter than hell where I live, so I tried out my unit in the living room. I think it would do a much better job in a smaller, contained space like a grow tent. If you can keep the unit supplied with frozen jugs of water, I should think it would be able to lower the temps in your grow area by several degrees.
me personally fixed my heat problems for now just adjusting height of cooldtube, when i did that i noticed that my ventilation pipe was loose from tubes exit end . Conclusion : temps now 66-77. But yes 1 cheap "cooler" is what you put water to bucket and throw and tovel in it so its hanging from edge? when water gets sucked up from bucket it moists air that coold air.. I hope this maked any sense..
Both great ideas that work well under ordinary circumstances ... I only visit the grow every three or 4 days so I think that would rule out the ice chest AC unit ... I've tried the towel and the truth is it just couldn't keep up with the amount of air I blow thru the closet ... I'm hoping Mother Nature sends some afternoon rains to keep the temperatures under 100* ... Last summer's grow produced moderately well ... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one ... thanks for the input ...
Those temperatures will make a real difference in your grow autokukkaa ... wish I could have those temps during flower ...
