Hi all... first i would like to say what an awesome site lots of veteran growers with good knowledge. This is my first post as im having growth issues with a northern lights auto. I have grown outdoor and indoors in the past with no issues other than the bloody gnats, and know the growth should be alot better than what i have atm,its day 7 from sprout and my baby has only got her first leaves very small and curled down thay have been like that from the beginning. Its my first time growing in a perlite-vermiculite 50/50 mix and i have read that vermiculite has magnesium-calcium-potassium and thought maybe its an over dose of the three causing stunned growth,i then transferred her into some seedling starting mix tonight to see if any changes occur.my ph is 6.2 no nutes, given her water only 3 times nice and moist....hmmmmm i just dont know whats going on any insight of to whats going on would be much appreciated.oh and the weather here in au is cold atm getting down to 7 outside its normally around 15 in the shed, but could get down to 10 over night,im thinking this also could be contributing to the slow growth I'm not growing in a tent this time,i only have t5 lights over the baby as i want stealthy grow without a tent otherwise i would of grown in a tent with leds....cheers

Hello and welcome to AFN! I hope to aee you around. Perhaps you'll e en start a journal that we can follow. As for the seedling. It looks fine. I dont see any issues at all. She may be a slow grower. Every seed is different. I cant stress that enough. The cold coukd be a factor, but it doewnt sound like its cold enough to stunt growth. Transplanting will probably slow it down more than the temporary weather. My rule is "one set of leaves a week".. Thats the norm that I see. Of coursr there are vigorous plants that grow faster, and some that grow slower, bur that seems to be the norm. 7 days and one set of leaves is just about right.

Ok great thanks for that....i was a bit worried as my other northern lights autoflowers had much more rapid growth but from another seed bank(vision seeds)....the one i have now is from royal queen..it must be a slower starter than the others...much appreciated cheers. Yeh for sure i will start a grow journal.

Aussie climate is a bitch to deal with! I'm getting zero overnight here... but like 22nin the days...

Ideally you would keep it warmer, and reduce the fluctuations as much as possible if you can. A heat mat from Bunnings?

Don't over water, and maybe a dome/cover for humidity? Whip up a little box for the mat and some protection for her

This looks like too hot a mix, similar to this. Happened with my last run, all grew out of it with tip burn showing through a little later

Hey bud yeh it is a bitch to deal with this time of year. I thought i would pop one or two and see how thay go,i got a heat mat off ebay should be here in a few days,i did have a cover/dome over her but took it off for the pics.might give her a very weak feed in a few days see if she perks up.

Seems like you've got all that under control.

My problem is that I'm impatient and even though it might not seem like it, they are growing under ground, and some genetics just take longer than others.

I over watered mine because I couldn't leave them alone, and gave them poor light... I've seen 9 day old plants that are bigger than mine are now at 4 weeks...

I don't think your plant looks unhealthy - at this stage, less is more. I personally would avoid the feed, seedlings usually have enough in them alone for 2 weeks, and if that soil mix is too hot as mentioned above?

I reckon just warm her up and sit tight! She will explode soon :-)

Yeh mate i have found with autoflowers thay dont like any nutes etc to start with really slows them down.thats why i thought maybe whats in the vermiculite is too much for the little baby,i do know that thay need calcium, magnesium, but like the old saying goes too much of anything isn't good at all.. ..;)
