Here is a llandrace photoperiod Pakiatni Chitral incubating seeds from a very new pheno vetted purple Thai. Starting as a true hybrid photoperiod regular strain. It’s an f1 breeding and should produce a few hundred seeds. It’s a special strain beciase my whole life I’ve had big white dogs but haven’t in years . You will note the white dog hair on the bud hence “ Hair o the Dog. “ I like to write about my experiences growing, so I’ll ramble a bit.
It is my experience in breeding that you can over and under pollinate I like the keeper ratio of small breedings of a 100-300 seeds . Under that and you may miss out on some variation you may want, Over pollination in my experience CAN create an endless backlog of non gems and for me at least gives me a higher male to female ratio. Also, in my trips through the Rif mountains of North Africa specifically in ChefChouen morrocca the men who work the fields only pick seeds out of the main kolas for next year. They do run seed crops but also will pick seeds out of kolas while trimming . I assumed it was because if they were produced by hermaphrofmditic pollen , they would be female but it this area , even the seed crops , only the main cola would be pollinated. I asked and my fried only pushed out his chest and punched on it. It was obvious he was speaking about strength. Strength, Spirit and overall power of a strain is not always dictated by high THC levels. Some of the greatest most powerful plants I’ve smoked have been what I woukd estimate 18-20 % thc, and all of those plants were pure strains ( landrace) ) or true hybrids which to ke is a pure strain crossed with another landrace strain. I will breeed a hybrid ( a true one ) but will only breed it with another pure strain . I love many of the modern poly hybrids, GG4 or white widow. But I will not breed poly hybrids with poly hybrids.
