Hecno's on going organics

Ok lets see if this works . Guess what I did it . :woohoo1:New computer and had to work out how to get the photos , My son did show me but he goes at a hundred miles a hour , To fast for me to keep up , any way I found a easier way to do it . So , 2 and a bit plants , taken down at 9 1/2 weeks , I know the plants grow bigger but due to the soil they did not , BUT , all up I only added 1 x Cal / Mag -- 1 x Coconut water --1 x pk hit [ Seaweed - Guano ] rest of the time water . First up @BCBudlady The Anvil , Nice firm buds and love the smell .

Now for the funny one @Tobe This little girl is all of about 8 inch's tall . and 1 big dud , also with both plants if you hit them with a hammer the hammer would break . :haha: they are that hard , the hardest I have ever had . even the lower buds .

Now the soil . compact as hell , If only I had added aeration - Now point dwelling on it - The problem will be fixed next grow as I got heaps of volcanic pumice stone graded 10 mm and lower and well washed . @KIS Thanks for the tip , I now have Mico GYP , I had a feeling I was low on Cal in the soil ,

Yep that's one big chunk of soil!

Well, you got some bud and you learned something!:pass:

At least you didn't kill a plant! We'll see if I killed Asian haze or not. I got a problem I gotta work through. I think I haven't figured out but I don't know how to get out of it. At least not how to get out of it gracefully I guess. :face: :haha:

One other thing to consider is to dry trim as it reduces the risk of aspergillum and other pathogens (less wounds). I like to take off the large fan leaves but leave the sugar leaves until after drying for that reason. Maybe it's not an issue in your environment but just wanted to mention it.

And feel free to go heavy on the gypsum provided you haven't added a ton of lime. Good luck, plants look great!

Here we have @tobe - Orange Assault after over a months cure - Flavour is really great and super smooth , the exhale is where the Flavour kicks in , for me the high lets me get things done .

BCBudlady Same here over a month cure , Flavour is great but it is the high that stunned me , it stopped me in my tracks , which I have not had for a very long time , I would normally be working in the garden when not at my day job , not with this stuff , great for what I needed , I get great sleep from it and helps with pain . Thank you .

Now here is something I am giving ago . What I have here is a worm bin that I modified to make a millipede bin to get the frass , in one of the photos you will see what looks like soil , but it is not it comes from a bloody big wood chipper , so it is a mix of all green waste , like big trees , bushes ECT . so far the millipedes are still there , will see how it goes .

How did that permacultural event turn out?

Seeing that big old clod of your media reminds me of what I just did. I bought two bags of BAS 3.0 media. They had a flash Sale with it being 20% off and no shipping. Still way too expensive . I just wanted to test it out.

The first thing you notice................ it's got a ton of pumice.
The next thing I noticed that it smelled exactly like mine after I have re amended and cooked it for a good while. You know the smell.

I used it to up pot two girls. One was from a small transplant bag to a three gallon and then we have the one that I was going to keep as a mom in a three gallon but plans changed. She got way way too big for a three gallon putt and the only thing I had was a 10. She is already a beast and it's just gonna get even more beastlier!

Here's the little pot to get some sort of idea of how much damn pumice is actually there.

@WildBill That is a lot of volcanic rock . I have just started a new grow 2 weeks ago and added pumice to the soil , a lot of it is smaller than what you have with some bigger bit too , I sieved it with 10 mm mesh . I have 20 litres and will get another 40 litres , I then will let it sit outside and let the rains flush it in the wet season . Volume to use I will work it out , just take time . :smokeit:

Back on track guys , These are 24 days old and have only had water - Molasses - Calcium - Humic acid - and the volcanic rock is working great . First up 3 GB x FSL IMG_0001.JPGIMG_0002.JPGIMG_0003.JPG
Now we have - Malawi x Panama x Durban 4 of , all these photos were taken yesterday and I just checked them today and they have taken off , so I will give them a P/ K hit next watering .

@WildBill The permacultural event was great , I ended up working there for 5 days , Chopping wood and a lot of chainsaw work , which I ended up doing a bit of training for some of the younger ones [ 8 ] that was cool they learn't well , cleaning up garden beds , sharping knifes , some bugger told the food , stalls that I was a butcher , and yep , ended up teaching how to sharpen knifes as well , Next year I am going to do a teaching on smoking food .

Man, I Wish I could go to something like that!
There's just nothing around here, that I know of, that is sort of along those lines.
It needs to be fairly regional. You gotta kinda talk the same resources! Making something out of papayas definitely not going to work for me, at least economically wise. Especially after this last insane inflationary period! :face: :what?:.

My first FFJ was not cheap. But it made a ton of food! It's's got a nice little ph of 3.4 though. it can keep for a very long while in a cool stable dark environment and I've got them covered with a blanket. You open a fresh jar and it smells so damn good you want to drink it! I'm probably pretty sure you could!

I don't remember but don't you have access to fish? Scraps and the sorts? Fatter and oilier, the better! Now I've never made it from scraps and fish heads and stuff like that. Yeah, I went whole hog and made it from a filet of salmon. Quality is just unreal and most importantly all for me it doesn't smell to high heaven.
My grandma made some one time when I was about 8, maybe a little younger. All her boys had gone fishing and caught a bunch of fish! Man there was a lot of it! I had to cut up a bunch of it!:face::haha::haha::haha::haha:
It was mixed in these big wash tubs! She bought she bought 25 pound bags of brown sugar! She also had these very large stainless steel pots with sealing lids. Thinking back, it looked commercial. Grandma also had these really beautiful thick crocks that she did her firm ending of the cabbage. God! That was stinky!
She did it a bit odd I think. We watched all the fish parts really well and then laid them out on one of her big old bed sheets that was retired to such work as this. I guess it probably helped it a little bit as far as the smell part went. Yes by letting it layout it would accumulate some of the natural flora and fauna. It was just messy as hell though for me as a kid! I hated it. And I don't know, but hers stunk like crazy after it was finished! Thinking back it was sort of a good smell but the bad funk overpowered it!:funny::funny::funny::funny:

Now that stood out in my brain! And that right there is why I made my FAA out of a salmon filet! My FFA smells **** outstanding! It's not quite to the ph that I want and it's still working. I've used some of it and it works really well!:eyebrows::eyebrows:
I've been timing it with my brewed compost tea and RootWise inoculate This very last time I added a tiny bit of the enzymes at the very end of the mixing. They are definitely raging their little butts off!:eyebrows:

@WildBill I add the fish frames and guts to the soil I make 300 litres at a time , so they are mixed [ Layered ] direct to the soil , then cooked for no less than 3 months , I have no need to add nitrogen as the plants get it from the soil , P is seabird guano they come in pellets that I grind in a coffee grinder, K is seaweed which is in fine flake form , I just sprinkle over the soil as I go about building it . When the soil drys a bit I water with molasses . any worms I find in my other gardens I but them in too , Now you grandma was properly making Fish Hydrolysate ,
