.. they do have fine gear! The A8 is just a quickie tester IMO, and at +/-0.2 it's usually close enough,... of course it works on entirely different principles, and so isn't the best for sheer accuracy, there are some plain limitations on such a design! ANd there are some definite tricks to getting good readings,.... slurry is a good way to go, but the draw back is that PITA factor, and the damage it does to roots getting into the prime root zone,...

Yeah... it's a bit pricey, showing a retail of 145$ ish... but I think it just went to the top of my list.

that's a great design there! It has the replaceable probe, and the nice spike for piercing the soil with low trauma,... I have to read up on it's use, but i wonder, since it's basically the same type of electrode in other liquid only meters, how well does it work in merely moist soil? Unless it call for a heavy watering ahead of time,...?

I just figured out my hermie issue... I've moved to California, and my plants think they're gender fluid... guess I'll have to start asking what pronouns they prefer a week after they pop up...
