You’re very welcome Brother.Hey 420, thanks for all you do and showing your process along the way my friend. I've started a new grow (as of yesterday, 1st Dec) and am looking forward to replicating your methods with the wealth of advice your have shown here and on Reddit. I'm super excited to share my grow and ask advice along the way.
Been very busy and might take me awhile to respond to questions but always happy to help.
Thanks for sharing your new grow with us and we’ll try to advice you the best we can.
Yes, I run my lights 24/7 with every grow.420, some questions: Are you running two 100 watt lights at 100%? Are they about 24 inches above the canopy? And if I remember correctly, you run them 24 hours? Are those numbers the same through each phase of your grow? Thanks!
Most of my tents have $109 240 watt FarmLites up above and $39 100 watt Maxisuns turned down to 80% down below. I did have 4 Maxisuns wired together for over canopy lighting in my 3x3’ but I recently bought a $150 500watt Bloom Plus Pro that I replaced the Maxisuns with.
You got it buddy! As far as I know, 420 uses different lights with varying wattages. But the 420scrog method is more about the training (and timing) of autoflowers, including choosing the right grow medium with optimal fertigation. The lights run 24/7 during all growth phases.
I even remember he once used a cheap 150-watt grow light and managed to achieve more than 7g/watt. So what I want to say: The focus should be on optimal training and timing, like flattening out and defoliation, canopy maintanance etc.
There’s a lot that goes into the process as you already know.
Lighting is important but good nutrient management, pretraining, HST, timing, canopy maintenance and defoliations are all necessary to make it work right and to get the best results.
Very nice!@420autoflower @DOA (and everyone else )
Do you think it's time for a "real" schwazz-session? (For plant no.1+2. The late bloomer still getting light defoils, but not too heavy. She is still in first week of flower imho).
I did leave tucking and light to medium defoiliation along the way.
I've got the feeling they are still stretching.
Today at Day 54

For context: These are the same ladies on Day 37. Right after flattened out. (Posted here aswell).

Beautiful full canopy you got there bro.
Good time to strip them down!
A lot of work but well worth the effort.
Go for it!!!!I am going to pull (almost) all of those fan leaves. Schwazzing. The question is, should I do it right now? Normally people say after the stretch is over / after week ~ 3ish.
Or should I wait a little bit more until the plant focuses completly on bud development.
Consult with our Oracle, but to me they're blocking bud sites, and I'd pull at least those.
I start all my autos in my signature 4x4” Grodan cubes and after roots penetrate through the bottom I place the cubes on either a 2 gallon grow bags filled with Cloud Coir coco/perlite, Grodan 6x6” Hugo blocks or Grodan Grow Chunks. The Grodan 4x4” cubes are great to start in… they don’t take up much space, absolutely no risk of transplant shock, extended veg and preflower time and they boost my autos up 4 inches so I’m able to scrog them out without being to close to the medium.Perhaps I missed it earlier? It looks like, besides stacking Grodan blocks, you place large sized starter blocks on top of coco (or is it soil?).. How do the results of the hybrid stacks compare vs. just blocks? Why and what is the difference between the blocks apparently set on top of the coco/media vs. the blocks apparently set on top of a white plastic sheet on top of the coco? What does the white plastic do here?
All the different mediums perform basically the same but makes the grow a little more interesting and shows people what kind of results you get with different hydro substrates. The white plastic (panda film) is to cover the Grodan Grow Chunks to avoid algae growth from the light.
Thanks for the reps @Mossy and @DOA!
Much appreciated folks!
