Indoor Growing Scrog

In this thread there have been plants that were scrogged less than 30 days after germination and some even after 45 days. I'd guess day 35-40 is a reasonable timing if one wants to slap a tentative day number on the matter. Take my guess with a grain of salt, 420 and DOA know better for sure.

Have you built your PVC rack and system yet?
Not yet gathering supplies and finishing up dry/ cure of my first harvest. I have several pumps that I might use to pressure a 3/4 inch pvc to evenly distribute nutrients to all in the 4×8 but I need to add a 240 volt line to run these 2 - 420 watt farmlite I have so lighting on both ends of tent are mirrored. As much as I want to get started being married for nearly 32 years has given me patience so I want to make it ready and test all auto watering outputs to ensure uniformity. In mean time I will continue to study and make a map of what I've seen done on what average days. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I hope to learn it and teach others.

Hello There,
Glad you found your way over here. :d5:
Will you be growing your autos in a climate controlled greenhouse? Would be interested in seeing your setup.

Big greenhouse was knocked down by a winter storm. My post you refer to was confusing, my apology. Next crop of 3 will be indoors totally, starting after Christmas. Two Big Mama Grodans with 4" on top and a third with 4" topping 2 pound coco-coir bag. All with pump setup like yours. Using Jack's 20-10-20 followed by Jack's 10-30-20, monitoring with good pH and E.C. meters. Autos only here.

I've tried to estimate your average width of canopies from your many photos. I asked about the days when I have to apply the net because for summer outside crop, that will be later in the season: sprout in May and veg then move outside middle of June. Tight window here of both setting outside and chop because of questionable weather. Outside I have the room to spread them out to the max with the net which I cannot do indoors.

i'm limited with my Diablo 350 indoor light to narrower diameter canopies on the three, but will find out. Excited already.

What is the closest equivalent to the Rockwool used on top of the coco?
Can I start plants in Eazy Plugs, then transplant those into a solo cup, and then in a 5 gallon fabric pot?
I think maybe in the Rockwool the roots don't have any barriers, so the solo cup might not be the best option?

You really need to use the rockwool if you want that explosive veg growth that's required to make the method work to it's full potential ;)

Your idea will definitely pay out, however the plants will be a lot smaller with a reduced number of bud sites.

I'd question why bother with the solo/paper cups; why not just plant Plugs with sprouted seeds in your fabric pots? I don't see the paper cup stage as adding anything.

32 years of marriage is respectable Brother! Good for you! You obviously know the golden rule “happy wife, happy life”.
I didn’t know they even made a 420 watt FarmLite. A 15amp breaker should handle the load of both lights and more unless you have a bunch of other appliances plugged into it.
I see a lot of people running PVC for their fertigation but I prefer the flexibility of 1/2” irrigation hose and 1/4” feed line, both are pliable, easy to work with and you can attach multiple lines without a hassle. I also have the option to crimp them shut with a zip tie if I’m not using them and go from a 1 plant grow to a 9 plant grow without having to mess around with rerouting PVC connections and tubing.

Oh ok… I understand now.
Should be an interesting indoor grow with Big Mamas and Coco. I did some outdoor scrogging over the summer and had good success but the autos I scrogged indoors in a controlled environment turned out much better in my opinion. I did have a lot of fun with the outdoor and would like to give it another go next year.
Love your bonsais.

Yes, but you might as well just start your seedlings in your final container and avoid the risk of stunted growth or premature flowering.
There are many advantages to using Grodan 4x4” cubes… they don’t take up much space, they extend your veg/preflower time, no seedling burning, absolutely no chance of transplant shock and they boost my plants up 4” so I’m able to do what I do.

Stated from experience!
