That’s very cool Bro!
Thanks for sharing! 🫵
Those little 4x4” cubes must have been fertigated every 15 minutes to keep the plants and rockwool from drying out. Lol!
It always amazes me at how big of an auto/photo you can grow in a little chunk of rockwool. I really didn’t expect my Gushers to turn out so big in the little bit of rockwool she was growing in but she suprised me and turned into one of the largest autos I grew this round. Might have to run more stacked 4x4”s in the future to save a little coin. :rolleyes1:
I think the guy said fertigation is every hour, something like that. He said he had to try it from curiousity, and tried it twice, to prove to himself that maybe 'more roots more fruit' didn't necessarily apply to rockwool and frequent fertigation. He was surprised at the results. I'm tempted to try only two 4" stacked Grodans on my next grow, with 5 min fertigations every two hours. Tempting fate. 🤠

Awesome. I will be following closely!

420 Method users: Can you please recommend US-based online sources to purchase Grodan Rockwool cubes? Who has good or best prices?
Amazon is probably your best bet just because of the free shipping on prime.

Amazon works. I looked around, prices don't vary that much.
On Amazon, Big Mama 8" cubes are $20.36 each. I presume this is ≥2x the cost per plant of using coco/perlite. Stack 2 and that's over $40/plant. And the cubes can't be reused! Growing just a few plants looks to require much more investment in media vs. other options -- coco, soil-, peat-, etc. based media. But I presume the up-front cost may be more than counter-balanced by the increased production per plant.

A little over $10 if you buy a case of 18.Amazon.Can grow a pretty big plant just using 1

This might work for you ...
Grodan 6" cubes are 12 count for $52 at Amazon, $4.33 each.
This fellow grew a very large plant in one 6" cube with auto fertigation. He explains his fertigation schedule.

For me, the cost of media (the Grodan cubes) is yet another factor keeping me from adopting this grow method. Other factors include the need to buy, install and manage automated watering/feeding, a reservoir, water collecting trays, etc. A lot more is required vs. non-automated conventional growing. Obviously, the amount/weight of buds per plant is incredibly high with this method, but aside from this what other aspects of harvested buds are improved (or not)?

I don't recall(?) any discussions or conclusions here about this method providing better buds. Does this method result in better potency, quality, etc. vs. conventional growing, such as densely growing multiple plants using drain-to-waste with coco/perlite (my current method) or soil? Is the productivity (weight of quality buds/sq. ft. of tent space) better vs. densely growing multiple plants with coco/perlite and SOG? How do buds grown using this method compare to growing "full hydro."
