Indoor GreenBean's Grows

At the moment, 800's a little strong for them. I gave them an extra hour last night and saw some light avoidance by noon today. The pisser is that they're growing into the light. It's at 13" on the left and 14" on the right and the plants are growing into the light. I lowered the wattage this afternoon because it was easier than lowering the light.

The plant is literally growing into the light? I should be a little more clear. I almost always have between 12-18" between my canopy and my light fixture. Depends on their life stage. I generally have it around 12"-ish during flower. Since we moved I'm only running my 4x2 for the time being. That's a gorilla shorty with a 2' height extension. It's kind of a PITA to raise anything once it's higher than the original shorty roof height of 4'11". I literally have to snake myself up into the height extension, which is like a little tunnel to make adjustments sometimes. So once we get to a point where the plant isn't going to get much taller, I generally set the height and use the dimmer. If something is getting blasted, then I will raise it. I'm not complaining about the ability of being able to add height extensions to gorillas, it's awesome. But it can be tricky at times on a short tent like the shorty.

Some strains don't like, or want a lot of light either. The FB zkittlez was one I grew last year that comes to mind.

The main reason I run 24/7 is so humidity does not spike. I can dim the lights and get the same DLI if I want to. The humidifier is 400 watts when it is running. I am not doing it from a yield perspective but making life easy and hopefully at about the same cost. i am pulling out almost 5 gallons a day right now.
Big dehumidifier and that's a huge amount of water. And that's running 24/7. Wow.

I'm generally able to keep RH in check. I've got a dehumidifier running ("70 pints a day") but we've had cool damp weather here in SoCal.

Is there an issue with switching form 18/6 to 24 and then back?

Mendel day 63. Girl is getting thick. I’ll save y’all the torture of looking at Walter for today. But, mannnnnn. Mendel. I’m slowly becoming impressed.

Hey, just to let you know I ordered up a Atreum 320.
That light has unreal numbers even when it is dimmed down. It is pricey but worth knowing you have great output in the 2 X 4 area.

I took one of the bars off of my 4x4 setup and added it to my 4x2 bar setup w/ the Meanwell 320. So, now the 4x2 has 4 bars anxd it's close to the Hydra 3200 that you bought. You have the spaced diodes and the different color temp diodes though. Anyhow, I've always been really happy with my Atreum bars and I'm digging the even coverage even more with 4 bars in the 4x2. Congrats though! Let us know how you like it.

If I go back to the 4x4, I'll put the bar back and go back to 3 bars in my 4x2 just to veg. until I decide what to do.

Hey everyone. Been a bit on the updates. Been a little busy and trying to stay offline a bit.

Anyway day 70/60 for Mendel/Walter. Mendel is kicking ass. Walter is eh? I'm not too happy with her to be honest. But whatever. It is what it is, not every plant will be a monster yield.

Mendel keeps plumping so she's good. Walter is just kinda sitting there. Maybe she'll surprise me? But maybe not. My first Meph grow that hasn't wowed me. As mentioned, I'm taking a Meph break next round and running the Twenty20 Ogreberry tester and the FB Banana Purp grow and show. After that, I'll run another Meph with Blackstrap and I would like to get Jeano in there. It's all dependent on whether putting the 4x4 up is doable. I mean it is. But can I handle a bigger tent in this space without going insane? We shall see.

Anyway, you know me! I'm rambling! Here's some photos of the current state of things. Mendel will go on the Full Tilt fertigation schedule in a couple weeks as she gets closer to finishing.

Walter might take a few extra weeks, they get behind like that and sometimes they go 100 plus.

Yeah she is definitely going to go longer. She's only been in flower now for 15 days and she's 60 days old. I've learned some new things with her, but it hasn't been my happiest grow for sure with her. I'll run her again down the line and see if I can correct where I went wrong. Assuming I did something wrong. If I did anything wrong, I should have waited a little longer to top. And probably did at least a little early, minor LST. I've been trying to move away from LST until later though.

I still feel like my plants stay smaller in the 4x2 vs the 4x4.

One thing I notice about the 4 bars now is that, I guess it's obvious, the tent gets hotter. I'm able to keep the humidity in line with the temps. But the other day it got up to 87F in there and I was a little surprised.

Did you get your light direct from Atreum? Or off Amazon?

I have plants act like that and I did nothing to induce it. It is like they are on a different clock. I got the light from Atreum with a 10 percent coupon from Dr coco. It came today but I will not hook up till the weekend. The fixture without the driver is extremely light. I need to hook up my light meter and see how wide I can go at what hieght. I want to see if I can get to 3 x 5.

Good, I was going to say that there are coupon codes out there. Not sure if they work on Amazon. But, fuck Amazon anyway.

Interesting to hear about the new fixture weight. My ARA 41 Atreum bars and the rails that they attach to are a little heavy. Nothing crazy, but pretty beefy. I mount my driver on the wall outside the tent. In the winter I will strap it inside the tent for some warmth.

They give a really even spread across the entire 4' space. Don't even have to go for crazy wattage with them. 480 watts in a 4x4 you saw that run. Mike is really cool and will help you out if you ever need anything. I'm glad to see someone like yourself, that I respect, buy one of their lights. They seem to be really on point with how they're doing things. I think the only LED makers that are at the same level (or higher) are Photontek/Lumitek. I love ChilLED too, but the ChilLED bars aren't long enough for my tastes. Nothing bad to say about ChilLED either, I would love to try one.

You can probably get a good spread in 3x5. Maybe a little dropoff around the edges/ends of the bars. I don't know what you are using now to compare though.
