Wow :smoking: that’s crazy man, proper hydroponics
so are there draw backs with clay pebbles, do you run a Pythium supplent like hydro guard,
Im just wondering do the root grow into the reservoir? becuse there’s must be a drainage. For the water too return
The results are really good too be honest, the amount of air in the root zone must be amazing. I bet you have too change the time more frequently in flowering stage.
it’s defiantly something I would consider. In the future. I’m just deciding between auto pots vs Wilma
Yea mate its full on hydro. The only real draw back with clay pebbles is they need a really good washing before you use them or you end up with a res full of rock dust. That can mess with ph and im sure isnt good for the pump.
I use a product called sm-90 to keep a sterile res but its discontinued now so will prob use silver bullet next time.
Would use hydroguard but its hard to find in the uk.
Theres little drainage holes in the chanel below the pots but the roots just seem to circulate round the bottom of the pots. Also i lift and turn them every day or so.
I drilled 2 inch holes in one of my other wilmas to purposely let the roots grow into the res but didnt see any improvement in plants. Plus the rootball was bigger than the holes so couldnt lift the plants of the res without destroying roots.
Yea mate the roots are constantly getting air once roots are out through the rockwool cube its impossible to over water.
I have been growing with a wilma for 5 years plus now and only used autopots once.
(didnt turn out great for me)
If dialed in theres a lot less work with autopots.
Main problem with the wilma is that because the plants sit on top of the res you need to move all 4 somewhere to clean the res.
Where the autopot res can sit nicely out of the road.
Sorry for the essay mate!
