So today has been a pretty damn good day so far. It started off with some good conversations with @arty zan about diy leds. Learned about a nice heat sink cooling system, although I can't remember the name, lol.

Azure Rocket #4 has broke the soil! So that 9/10,

and the last is the 1 I dropped so... It might not even be in there. To be honest I'm not sure haha, oops.

I also pulled the trigger on a new tent. I got an Apollo 48"x48"x80" for $99 on amazon with prime shipping! I'll be finishing my COB fixture finally too!!!

The tent has all the upgrades I wanted from my 4x2x5 tent. Metal corners, double sleeved ports, tall, D shaped door, and big zippers. Between COBs and hps I should be at 825-865 watts. Next step is to beef up the vent system. I should be in the clear for now, but this is over doubling my cubic footage.

Not gonna say what the tech was, gonna buy it first and do a little show and tell

That's no reason why we shouldn't look into the future and see another part of a future build.

this looks amazing, quiet and very good thermal cooling and uses a fluid dynamic bearing. The heat sink is the fan!! 25mm deep, wow that's a low form factor. Stick a CREE cxb3590 on it couple to you power supply (driver) and that should be good to go and can deal with about 90W (smaller units would have lower Wattage cooling)

Now Azure Rockets sounds like an awesone strain of weed but couldn't find it , so I'm supposing it is a Geranium? what ever it is it has popped it's head above the dirt

can't wait to see your COB finished, I love a bit of DIY and DIY LED's even better and then coupled with an HPS, something tells me a monster grow is coming!!!

The Azure Rocket is by a private breeder here in the states. It is by Afterthought Autos, and he is actually banned here. Remember about me just stopping all my journals? He was part of that. So when they are gone, that it for them. Lol although I still have about 18 of them in various strains.

The COB part is going to be kinda easy from here on. I got all the difficult parts over, I just need to wire up the drivers, and make a hanging bracket/fixture. The 3w's are going to be a bit more difficult. I don't know how to soldier, so I'll have to teach myself. Hello youtube! I want to build a frame that wraps around the hps, so it take up the edges, but that may be to much work. I am creative, but no engineer, lol. Chances are I'll just do 1 light on each side, and keep it simple.

One thing I thought would be cool, is to do a vert grow with cobs. It wouldn't be to hard, and keeping the heat down would be much easier than a bare hps. Anywho, I'll chat with you later bud.

Alright I got the extra soil, and hay in place. All but AR#4, its only 1/8" above ground. I also turned the light up to 400w. Saturday I'll go on up to 600w. This weekend I plan on making a air lift tea brewer. I've been running 4-5 air lines in to a 5 gallon bucket, and would like to make a better brew.

So right after my last post I thought about the KISS way of wrapping the COBs around the hps.... All I would have to do is make individual light bars, lol... It would help distribute the weight of the fixture, and I could fine tune the light spread better. I have 6 heat sinks total, so i'm thinking 2 bars with 1 heat sink, and 2 bars with 2 heat sinks.

The tent has shipped, and should be here on Friday afternoon. If everything works out as planned I'll be adding 4-5 more plants. This should be just in time for my Stones order!

Okay so it looks like I am going to be able to upgrade my ventilation system sooner than I though. I am currently running a 4" system, and going to a 6" system. At the moment I think I am going to get the Ipower fan/filter combo for smells, and use my current 4" fan just for cooling the light. I also am getting a duct silencer for the 4" fan as I plan on just running it at full power. If that idea doesn't work, I have an extra speed controller already.

I'm also getting 4 more pairs of light hangers for the COB light bars. I'm going to try and get to the hardware store tonight and get some of the pieces I need, and also the pvc for the air lift system.

The air lift is going to look something like this. with the air pump coming out the back of #4. It is a design by Tim Wilson AKA Microbman, and built by Jeremy at BAS. The parts, and a demo video can be found http://buildasoil.com/blogs/news/tagged/do-it-yourself
It is about 3/4 down the page. My water bottle has a handle, so the vortex part might not work, but it should sustain at least 6ppm of dissolved O2, and that is my target.

So while typing this up the mail man came, and if you didn't know, I've been stalking him.

So after retracting my claws, I found a nice package from overseas. Inside was my order of Amnesia Stone99, and a bunch of freebies. 23 freebies! Among those freebies where 2 Stone dragon fems, and I am super stoked about those. About 1/2 the order is fems, but I also got a 15 pack of Fairy Stone regular seeds. So thats pretty cool, get me some pollen too!

It's time to go get my grub on! I've been fasting for the last 40 hours and I am ready to gain a pound or two! Talk with you guys later.

Oh shit, its the stalking eyes again!!! RUNNNN!!! So I got the new tent today, and am absolutely thrilled to have so much more space to use. My wife almost blew a gasket, but was easily subdued with a nice back rub, and some clothes shopping. (i don't just have it like that, she was already going shopping, I just benefited from it lol) She for some reason thought it was going to be the same size. Oops!

So here it is next to the old tent. It is also way way nicer than the Milliard tent. Not to say that tent was garbage, but unless someone was on a very tight budget I would not recommend it.

The plants are looking good. Only bad new is the last sprouted AR died. It cam out 1/8", and just stopped, shriveled, and departed. So in total there are 8 plants now. 5 CA, 3 AR.

I also ordered more gear for the new tent. Monday I will have a 6" fan and filter by Ipower, a 4" duct silencer for the lights fan, 4 sets of light ratchets for the COBs, and 5 more 3 gallon pots, I want to be able to run 10, 3g pots at a time. Mainly for the reg seeds I like to grow. Yeah I said it, I like regular seeds. Fem seeds would probably be 4-9... 2x2...3x3... All would depend on genetics. I would like to do a full photo run with 4, 5 gallon pots soon. I have plenty of head room now, so a monster would not worry me as much.

Now I just need to figure out what to fill'er up with. I am going to leave 1 spot open for the new Dina seeds that are coming. I still have not got any damn Bubba Kush, and I want some damn BK! Anywho, I hope you all are doing good, and wish you a good night.:smoking:

I was clearly thinking with my ego, and it did not fly like I thought. Yet another learning experience. Good new is my wife kicks ass, and the options are still open.

The tent has been in our bedroom, and with the 4x2x5 was no major issue. However when we moved in I agreed to let that room be her sanctuary, and with the big tent it is anything but that. We have been looking for a new bedroom set, and now my wife is going to get free reign on what we get. In trade I am going to get the walk in closet for my tent. I am not the biggest fan of it being in the room, but for environmental, and security reason, it was the best place to put it.

So I have a bit of work to do, and some imagine to use, but this is going to be so much better I don't care. One of my biggest issues I currently have is heat. It is the reason I changed my lights to a night time cycle. The current position of the tent in in front of a window that gets the hot afternoon light (noon-3pm). Now I am going to be able to vent directly to the addict, and not recycle the hot air I am producing. Plus I'll have the extra room to actually store my gardening items instead of putting them w/e they fit. Between the addict venting, and using a separate fan for the light I should be able to get optimal temps instead of just workable temps. Plus I'll be able to actively control the RH vs just having w/e moisture I can retain. So yeah I'm pretty stoked for this!!!

On a funny note, my tent is a bit wonky at the moment. My ducts where already a bit short for a 5' tent, and at 6.5' it is like a success through slopes. It's functional, but I had to put the filter on ratchets just to get it to works, lol. My new vent items will be here Monday, and I'll have more ducts to work with.

The plants are looking pretty good. So far they have still only received un-pHed water. I am trying to gauge the pH stabilization of my soil. I know most growers here swear that you must ph your feeds, but I kindly disagree. I have read enough documented journals that simply get water w/o any treatment but making suer there is no chlorine. I use a chlorine filtrating system, and it is going in straight from that. So far I am happy with the way things look. When the plants drop their cotyledons I'll get a better idea. Also the use of worm casting teas will help regulate the Ph, and anything bubbled for 1-2 days will have it's pH naturally stabilized. Holy shit dissolved o2 never sounded so good!

Okay so I've come up with th new line up. Somewhere on or around Monday I am going to germ 1 Amnesia Stone99, 1 Black Stone, 1 Crystal meth by FastBuds, 1 LSD also FB, and 1 Sour Mango by N.W. All fems, lol I may just get 8 males out of the current plants. After I pull the males, I'll use that space for the Dina seeds I am waiting for.

I am also going to put 2 Fairy Stone reg outside. In the perfect world I would get 1 male, and female here. I was gifted a pack of these by Stone for personal breeding. So even 2 males will be okay. I can't find the description right now, but have read about it on AFP, and it looks great.
