Mephisto Genetics Froot's Mephisto - Basically Jurassic Park

much appreciated man! i meant to pop a Skywalker in to soak last night but y'know :baked:, i'll be sure to let you know how i get on and sending positive vibes that yours will pop! there's some excellent photo' Skywalker floating around my neck of the woods lately and it is absolutely divine, if i can get comparable results with this version then it'll be getting grown in numbers to get me stocked up - honestly one of my favourite ever smokes.

thanks a lot Roasty! lots of good decisions it seems but it's all thanks to what i learn watching y'all do your thing here on AFN. phenomenal resource.

i got you bro! i picked up a bathroom tap adaptor yesterday for £1.50 for my RO filter and it works like a charm - snapped a pic to show you;

exactly my thoughts when i got a PPM meter - i still want to mix up a typical Advanced Nutrients feed to see what kinda numbers i was pouring in the pots for so long...less really is more with these girls.
some more pics incoming of the younger girls, hopefully you can see the improvements already after ditching my poor tap water and [hopefully] dialling in feeding practices that work for me.

Sorry, i'll reply properly later when I have some more time but where did you find that!? That's exactly what I need. I nearly flooded the house the other day...

Plumbing is NOT my strong suit.

Looking good, brother. Can't wait to hear how HBSS treats you. Mine's about halfway cured now and it's delish! It smells pretty mellow (almost like sweet tea) and sends me straight into the clouds. Good stuff!

i can't wait to tell you about the Hubbabubba bro! i have a sample nugget from the branch that snapped off drying in a paper bag with the rest of the branch hanging up, hoping the paper bag bud will be ready for a Friday night tester. really excited! thanks for dropping in dude.

Great stuff as usual buddy!

Liking the double grape colouring

Medi mate :pighug: hope you are well!
she's gonna be white as winter in a few weeks with a little luck man. lovely strain mate, in all my years smoking i never came across a profile like this stuff, be interested to hear what you make of it some day.

variety,rotation/perpetual  keeping the garden ticking over nicely.more than nicely :greenthumb:just whisps of buds at the minute :smokeit:but allready a good dusting on the fan leaves :jawdrop:
@LordGreenWood :pass:has a gwk looking rather nice to :smokeit:have some in a drawer somewhere but yet to grow out a gwk,i should pull my finger out :hurry:
next level with the RO system :d5:
happy tent :smoking:
:pighug:

thanks for popping in Archie :toke: i'm muddling my way through but i'm not shy to admit appearances can be deceiving! grown out some nice looking plants but am yet to be rewarded with the quality i'm chasing...nowt to do with genetics etc, just a case of "got all the gear but no idea" really, but results are inching closer to satisfaction. i think (hope/pray) HBSS has been grown well enough to tick the boxes. black ash and harsh smoke has plagued my harvests which is why i've switched up techniques, mediums, nutrients, schedules, monitoring/chasing numbers and all that good stuff.

i'm going to grow some top shelf bud if it frickin' kills me!! i feel confident though! :woohoo:

here's a HBSS nugget

is the cupboard still bare mate? i participated in seed-wetting-Wednesday, Skywalker having a soak. i have some Walter crosses to pop still but my little brain keeps demanding OG all the damn time - but Grapey Walter and White Chem are both awaiting their turn in the tent

Yeah, Froot, I am really thinking about finally becoming a Meph head for a grow. I do need more indica though. I have a few strawberry nuggets, and I here they have the kush indica profile I need. I need a plant that can handle tropical weather during my summer grow, though. Do you think SN would work?

honestly, i'm not sure! i have yet to try one of Mephisto's proper heavy indicas. they tend to grow shorter, tight nodes and wiiiiiiide fans...in my mind, quite the opposite to what you're used to in your space! the tight nodes and overlapping leaves might create concerns about airflow etc, and with summer coming up that's something to consider...personally i'm a madman who's running my tent at 70% RH currently even with those thick HBSS buds in there  and if you're craving that indica hit honestly Mephisto seem to be the masters of them.
all that said - i have seen several Strawberry Nuggets stretch and open themselves up and get rather tall. no matter what i try or (within reason) how close i put my cobs to seedlings i have not been able to avoid stretching, sometimes too much. the Double Grape wanted to grow in to the cob above her! my theory is the spectrum of my cobs, whilst sufficient, is not ideal for growing and vegging and the plants try and inch towards them to make up for the shortfall. so i'm interested to see how the shorter stocky indicas react to them and see if i can still get a bit of stretch out of 'em! hopefully the 4AM i just potted up will be a good test.

:crying: i'm sorry mate i shouldn't laugh, but that's exactly why i went with a tap adaptor instead
i picked that up at a local cheapy shop that sells loads of nik-naks, summer coming up it's full with gardening stuff. just had a google for "hosepipe tap adaptor" and found same style as mine of the 'bay for £3ish. there's also another style that fits over conventional kitchen taps and then clamps down - i tried one of these too and was not impressed.

so i managed to spill the 4AM again this morning during feeding time. trying my best to spoil this opportunity :nono:
so i delayed going to work for the greater good of potting her up, emergency style. definitely caught a couple of roots but she had some nice looking roots at the bottom of the solo cup so i think i might get away with it. will be reviewing how i deal with solo cups though...

Dude... I'm useless. Stoned or not, i think I should keep well away from my main water supply. Thanks for the pointer, I'll just pester the guy in the hardware store and try and make him believe I'm super fussy about my water.

The HBSS looks amazing, you've really done her proud! I'm sure that now you're using RO water you should see a difference, hopefully I will too although i don't think I've had many problems in that regard, i've got little to compare it to. I've never sampled anything from a dispensary or even anything from Dam but any improvements are welcome.

I was HORRIFIED to see the PPM of my feed, also just my tap water. It's coming out at like 490. Can't be great for us let alone the plants.

Anyway, thanks again for the nudge to switch, I'm sure we'll both see some improvement on the final result.

SN is the smallest plant I've ever seen! I grew two and didn't love, love them. They're very squat and as Froot says, RH and Aairflow are crucial. Nice smoke, actually a very nice smoke, but yields are fairly small and they're a bit tricky.
If you're after a heavy narcotic smoke they're a good shout but the smell and flavour is a little lacking in my opinion. If you can get some Four Assed Monkey it would absolutely give it a go. Slightly bigger, heavier yielding, the smell is crazy and it really translates to the smoke. Amazing couchlock high but with enough of a cerebral element to keep things groovy. You can get in the zone with something or you can just veg out and watch cartoons. Hands down my number one smoke even if i hadn't grown it.

Thanks Froot and Nice. Lots of good information, and tips. I am reconsidering SN. For Mephisto seeds, I have SN, CDLC, sour livers, blue roof special, sweet n sour, and skyzenberg. Really need late night indica this grow. Can’t justify buying seeds as I also have fast buds Gorilla blue and GSC. Will have high heat, so need some help in making a choice.

now if I can only stop trying to sabotage this 4AM under my care then maybe I could get in on this hype! :wall:
she looks happy enough in her transplant this evening so hopefully a splash of luck keeps her happy!

I forgot to say @NiceOption i experimented with my tap water mixed up with a light feed of Advanced. 1ml per L A&B, 1ml Big Bud, 1.5ml Carboload comes out at 1100+ PPM, and that was a typical light feed. By my rough calculations based on what I feed now, we are talking tens of thousands of unnecessary PPM’s going through the container by the end of a grow. ouch.

@Iriee Vibez i constantly see Bluetoof Special said to be the finest late night sleep meds’ from their catalogue - I’m incredibly jealous you have some and suggest having a peak around Bluetoof grows documented on AFN, it seems to be rather cherished.

Seconded! Grow that!!!!

Ahhhh she'll be fine. Pretty hardy I think. I nearly cut her head off with my training and she still delivered about 4oz. You're in for a good time with her :eyebrows:

Thanks Nice and Froot! It was a freebie, and I couldn't find much about it, and couldn't tell if it was an indica or not. Based on your reviews, I am excited as hell!

Thanks for the guidance brothers!
