Mephisto Genetics Froot's Mephisto - Basically Jurassic Park

Haha I'm not surprised and you are correct mate it's all about productivity

Starry, starry night ,Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul!!!!!

I am a rather complex individual when you get to know me :crying:

hey bro :bump:

coco adventure was going fine besides a bit of stunting from before transplanting her, but she took a bit of a turn yesterday rather rapidly on her lowers, but i'm thinking it's just under feeding so not worrying too much, also still getting temps and humidity sorted in the tent - gets hot in there and she was close to the tube heater so maybe too much heat too:pass: i'm also looking to change nutrient lines sooner than later, made things worse by switching calmag product and i just have too much N in everything now.

and then i spotted some mould on Ripley's last night - not easy to photograph but here's the arm i snipped off;

white fluff in the centre. threw the top out and separated the good looking bud from lower down the branch in to a brown paper bag and will keep it away from anything else just in case...had a good look around the rest of the plant and couldn't see anything more but i started flush this morning with first dose of Flawless Finish so we can bring harvest forward. if she drinks well and remains mould free maybe i can keep her going up to another week. haven't lost much so far and hopefully it'll stay that way. added more fans to the tent this morning, big floorstander in there now.

better news is i have two happy seedlings, GWK and Samsquanch OG. GWK wearing her seed shell around her neck :eyebrows:

Stilton Special hanging in the old cupboard drying, the 48 hours of darkness i'm not sure if it did much besides bring out a hint of purple colouration.

I see the fuzz but not sure thats mold... Kinda looks like spider sac, just need a better pic. Most all mephisto are mold and pest resistant. But either way good catch and save, hope the rest goes well.

As for the darkness I don't really believe it helps. May reason being that it takes so long for a trich to become cloudy that all your doing is adding immature trichomes.

wasn't easy to get it to show up on pictures and i didn't wan to handle it too much, hadn't progressed far enough to turn the surrounding bud grey/brown, think i caught it same day it developed. but i will double check for bugs this evening!

darkness thing - yeh absolutely if it increases trich' count then as you say they won't exactly be mature...but as most of this stuff seems to be bro-science with little-to-nothing to back it up i thought i'd try it. supposedly increases terps' as they are produced most during dark period but i dunno.

Bro Science hahahah.

thanks man, no pounds here but she's a big lady for sure!

you and me both brother, but it's her scent that really gets the  effect going :eyebrows:

i could take the tops now to be honest but her lowers will all benefit from a nice dose of lighting after she was confined in my original grow cupboard until yesterday! i'll push her as far as i can, planning on another 2 weeks minimum but i don't like to let 'em get to old so we shall see.

i'll swing by and check out yours bro, they smell wonderful eh? :pass:

mate you don't know the half of it
about 10 minutes after that first picture it was like she let out a sigh and flopped over :crying:
main cola was attacking the HBSS when i looked in this morning! other arms flailing about everywhere  but it's not a beauty contest in my grows so she can flop all she likes if it exposes her lower bits better :eyebrows:
confused me for a but there mate didn't take you as an arty farty type :pighug: Starry Night my favourite but partial to Sunflowers :baked:

Mine is officially in Flower today :) I’m so stoked! She smells great already, citrusy and clean smelling

She’s easily the biggest plant in the tent, she’s drying out right now, gettin some feed Tom morning and she’ll perk right back up.

She stayed wet for too long, and I can see what it did to my leaves, so I wanted to rly dry her out. And then lightly feed.

Did your Ripleys have allot of “downward” angled fan leaves? Or did your plant pray like it’s suppose to?

My Ripleys doesn’t display “over-under watering” properly. Her leaves don’t respond like we all know they do. She’s different

I do use allot of Silica, I find figure that could be the reason

She’s spot on healthy as far as I know. Maybe it’s just a transition into flower thing?

She use to pray until pre-flower started

Wow, that Stilton looks stunning! I've no idea whether the darkness thing helps or not, but whatever, she looks flawless. Love it when they just get a little hint of purple in there.

The one in coco just looks like underfeeding to me yeah, seems like it's going well. You really do have to give them quite a bit in coco. More than probably seems advisable if coming from soil. She looks pretty happy to me! Which cal-mag are you using now?

Obviously I feel your pain on the mould (or whatever it is) It's a bummer but you did really well to catch it so early. I'd never have managed that I don't think.

Reckon I'm gonna be adding a ROG to the next round for sure...

@ClydeWalters no downwards leaves on my Ripley's mate but no two are the same as you know. i pushed mine very hard with my cobs and she kept her leaves straight for me. you've set yours up way better than mine though, i just couldn't get the penetration from the cobs to bulk up the growth on her lowers, so i will end up with a lot of fluffier bud. next run with her i will train hard or top for sure, if the smoke is as good as i think it will be. less than a week and i'll chop mine, so around 84 days seed-chop.

@NiceOption i just got lucky i happened upon it matey, but if nothing else it will ensure i remain vigilant with inspections etc - basically it justifies the amount of time i sit in their room not doing much at all haha.
for the terps alone, Ripley's is worth a grow out - she probably isn't going to makes waves in terms of bag appeal honestly but size and smell more than makes up for that to me. i'm still trying to refine my drying and curing process though as i'm unhappy with taste so far - potency and smell not been a problem for me but getting the end product tasting great is something that eludes me.
thanks for the kind words on the Stilton, really has been a lovely little surprise and her aroma really makes my eyes pop haha. gotta wait another week at least to try her arghhhhh

so with the advent of a Ripley's harvest fast approaching, this 4x4 is about to look rather bare with a modest HBSS and my seedling Samsquanch and GWK - will be popping the White Stomper to make up some numbers and then decide if i'll run a 5th girl before adding more lights or wait until after.

here's my HBSS at 38 days old :pass:just started to pull her finger out

tip burn must be from the new CalMag (sorry @NiceOption i switched to TNC CalMag (TheNutrientCompany) - cheapest on a popular internet marketplace - from the Density CalMag product...the Density brand did not contain N but instead it is stuffed full of amino acids and sweeteners, which smells incredibly chemical and not in the nicest way...but after a couple of grows i think it effects the final product too much so decided to stop using it) as that's the only thing this girl has had at full strength - trying to work up from 0.5ml Sensi A&B feeds with very little additions added but yet again i find my girls give me the finger trying to push AN stuff higher. she's getting a drop of Big Bud and will move to Canna PK 13/14 once full flowering begins.

She’s beautiful man! Dayum I lost your journal and I know I missed a ton, but that ROG sure looks fine.

Look at this! My first Mephisto plant:

She’s going to give me very little bud but it’ll be good! :woohoo1:As you can see, I’ve been up to my stress and stunt techniques with quite a bit of success. :hothot:
