Well you know if I have room for 3 (still waiting on the pots and have to figure out some things) what I'll do in the next grow is this:

1 plant with flush
1 plant without flush
1 plant with soil in which I will throw some banana's, chocolate, etc.. (idea's are welcome I would ask things that wouldn't taste chemical but have a rather distinct flavour)

Now while I was writing that I was thinking if a plant only uptakes what it naturally needs then how can it taste chemical since it wouldn't uptake that from it's roots?

Damn I'm getting wiser by the minute but non the wiser at what I'm looking for. :')

if I would add chocolate to my soil wouldn't the plant take in the cacao although it's rootsystem isn't build for it?

maybe a bad example.. if I would put cocaine in water and make sure ph is right wouldn't it uptake the cocaine although not being build for it?

(I don't have cocaine but it's just a thought I had a while ago and might contradict what pop22 is saying, no disrespect of course still trying to figure it out it isn't tomorrow yet!)

No. the active transport mechanism will only allow certain ions of minerals in. The Osmotic membrane only allows for balancing solute ( moving water from low concentration solution to a high concetration solution until the is balance. A very high concentrstion of nute in DWC say, can cause the plant to wilt because of the movement of water out of the plant.

I woulld say it depends on the nutes and how much salt you are putting into the soil..but some use the flush to help push the plant into finish and absorb food from the leaves..I use growmore nutes and I flush at the end only.

open the rabbit hole eh?

the simple answer is... biology usually uses plant exudates as energy, and break down soil nutrients, making them available to the plants... as always in nature... symbiotic relationship. chemical nutes TRY to simulate what biology does in its sleep.

btw... I trust Cornell... to poop in... other than that... they are "conventional agronomists" and HAVE NO CLUE about biology and plants... they think EVERYTHING is glorified hydroponics. this model is completly wrong and dreamed up to capitalize on all of us. they use lots of energy and strong acids to get the same nutrients (minus the traces) out of the same rocks we use in high brix / high nutrition organics. :check:

That is the way to do it...:coffee2:..then mail all the Contributors to come View the Results.

One of the Founders of AFN use to swear by Baby formula..a complete mix of all the nutrients a human needs to survive..:tiphat:

we all (plants, animals, and humans) need a full spectrum of over 90 elements to be truly healthy... in proper proportions... and we cant access them without correct biology present... same... plants animals, humans... :check:
