Very good Botters! (You`re so sharp, I`m surprised y`haven`t cut y`self! "Eye roll") :pighug: :Sharing One:

I'll throw my experiences / opinion down on this.

I've been growing for two years. I started out flushing with completely clean water when my feeding schedule is complete (65 Days total). I experienced absolutely no negatives from this...buds come out tasting good and not harsh at all as long as I flushed for at least 12 days. Growth seemed to slow a bit but not significantly.

Then, I started reading everything that I'm sure you've come across about flushing being bad for the plant, etc. So I started doing research. As usual, with cannabis finding anything consistent or proven is about impossible. So, I decided to kinda ride down the middle of everything I read. Instead of flushing with clean water, I "flush" with Earth Juice Sugar Peak Grand Finale which is basically Molasses on steroids (0-6-4) and Bloom Final (the ratio is less than 1-1-1). Both nutrients are designed to be used during the "flushing" period of your grows. As long as I use just these two for at least two weeks, I have noticed NO difference in smoothness or taste. I have also noticed definitive increases in bud growth throughout this period while using these two nutes. I will never go back to flushing with straight water. At the very least, if you are going to still use full nutrients avoid anything with high levels of nitrogen. Regardless, I would highly recommend at least giving the Grand Finale a shot because I absolutely love it.

hmmmmmm if my lazy ass wants to leave my house tomorrow I'm getting some molasses and will start feeding her that after the flush!

I grow in coco using General Organics nutrients.
I do what would be considered a flush during the transition of Grow to Bloom nutrients.
I'll run a few liters of H2o with GH Florakleen through my ladies, then start them on bloom nutes.

At the end of their lives I'll do what would be considered a cleanse.
I'll feed my ladies nothing but H2o and Florakleen for the last week of their lives.
My preference is to allow my ladies to go necrotic.
I pull as much green out of my ladies as possible before harvest.
This and a good cure I feel add more to flavor and taste than anything else..

My use of Florakleen is more of a medium maintenance.
I reuse my coco and preventing salt build is a concern.
As well I use an enzyme to eliminate any dead or dying roots.

So for me Flushing occurs during nute transition and a Cleanse happens at the end of their lives.
My $.02.

Totally agree Ronin,
When I was doing soiless, I would also let the medium go bone dry those last couple of days.
I do the same in hydro, but the plant responds much quicker.

Ronin, I'm with you on the point that a good cure is essential for a good final product. For me, I would be more concerned about the drying and curing of the buds. A properly cured bud is a tasty bud. IMHO

I reckon a good cleanse/flush is an important factor in achieving a good cure! (again, just my "My 2 cents")

If I say pow-tay-to you say potato. If I say tow-may-toe you say tomato. Lets call the whole thing off. Honestly, can we not be chums instead of the constant antagonistic rivalry that seems to exist between us!
I love ya like a brother. OK, maybe a ginger step brother. But how about a truce eh pal ?

Then again, that would be no fun at all. Forget i said that you grumpy old devil. Bring it on.....

No disrespect to Pop, but with an assertion that attempts to so fundamentally refute 99.99% of the wisdom and practice currently out there, I personally wouldn't treat it as actionable fact without looking into it further. I can't argue the science so I won't try...but as a critical thinker, I would at least question the voracity of such a game-changing assertion. My 2 cents.

All it takes is an in depth look at the physiology of roots to see why. Its not an easy read if you get in depth. I'm standing behind the science of it. For me, this is a total waste of time and damaging to the plant. your results may vary....lol! :Sharing One:

All I ask is, if you haven't, do yourself a favor and look at the science. I'm not even asking you to agree with me, but I am asking you to question the validity, regardless of the results you think you've achieved. Everyone is quick to defend questionable practices just because they sound reasonable. Lets be as quick to question how these things supposedly work
