Photoperiod First photo grow in 20+ years

those plants look good.

:thanks: Love taking these pics for wallpaper (have night and day reversed, so can't peek until plants' morning.) Noticed what might be nutrient burn on the plant on the right so flushed with water + another dose of Gnatrol. Automatic top-watering and growing much longer than autos, maybe salt build-up. Next time, plan for periodic flushes.

These can't be the same strain, right? The one on the left has much bigger buds. It's bushier and her leaves are shaped differently. (The one on the right had some unusual, complex leaves, with a second, mini-leaf over the big fan blades.) The one on the right has been losing leaves, like autos grown recently. The one on the left is holding onto her leaves tightly, little yellowing so far. She also smells like caramel already. Intoxicating.

Different phenos or a mix-up elsewhere? Was looking forward to growing S.A.D. fast version, but now hesitant to order.

Pheno differences are very common there are quite a few strains that have lil to no variance but when dealing with multi hybrids more often than not there's going to be different phenotypes an genotypes'.To me that's where the fun comes in almost like you're not sure what you're going to get ,if you're dealing with multiple hybrids I find it helpful to like all the components to the strain ,so if I do get a particular pheno type it's something I like or would grow without its cross strains.

Sorry, it's a bug not a feature. Just means the breeder didn't do the number of crosses needed to stabilize the genetics. If that's what the market expects, which breeders sell true-breeding strains?

Have you heard of DJ short ? Most of his strains are true breeding.I can think of quite a few strains that remain consistent, landraces and some of the older hybrids I have grown .

Thanks, I'll look up DJ short. Landrace strains sound like they'd need too much space and time for a hobbyist. Know most large-scale growers clone, but surprised they don't demand better genetics. Imagine a farmer growing tomatoes and only half produce what he expects. He'd be screwed.

That's where its at cloning if you're looking for consistency and the same plant every time, find something you like and keep it as mother plant there's a train wreck in my area a guy has kept for over 25yearsi have definitely grew some special plants I wished I had taken clones from and kept as mother but I have very little space .

Also indica dominate landraces can due quite nice Hindu kush ,northern lights, hash plants and Afghani strains are very consistent and the good ol classic skunk [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] produces good buds of the dank quality while being stable an of course blue berry I personally haven't got a lot of phenos growing it .

Still on track, fingers crossed. This plant, on the left, has developed some brown-speckled leaves. You can see it on the light green leaf in the center. Had something similar with last auto grow, but this plant is much healthier. Judging by web images, looks most like a manganese deficiency. The leaves with the brown edges belong to the other plant. Not too worried, this late. The trichomes are already milky.

Thinking about trying Delicious Seeds' Sugar Black Rose fast version. Grew three, big, identical autos under a Black Star 180 Chrome. Neat idea, back-crossing them to the Black Domina/Critical parent. Also grew their La Diva auto freebie which flourished in a stressful environment. Love to see what they can do under a better lamp.

Harvested earl after discovering a single bud that had succumbed to Botrytis. Not equipped to deal with that right now, especially in the humid season. Still, a massive harvest close to finish. As expected, parental pheno (or whatever) yielded relatively little beyond ounces of popcorn buds.

Very impressed with yield and ability to give plants time to recover from early problems with photos. Now that the light trap is built and working, expect to switch to photos. Humidity, both too dry and too wet, seems like the main issue to resolve.

Thanks, all, for your valuable advice!
