New Grower First grow with DIY kit

OK here's the scruffy b*tch, atypical cal deficiency halted, but damage done, mystery Sweet Seeds girl, day 73:

And here's Zambeza Blueberry day 44, she really didn't like getting a soapy water spray when I had the whitefly problem, so she probably won't reach maturity before we depart this place:

We have MAX 66 days before we're gone, but it'll likely be less than that. No I'm not starting anything else here, it'll have to wait until we reach the next location.
Oh, you should have seen my calmag def. Every leaf was fried to crisp. I hope sample bud is smokable tomorrow. Then I decide what will happen to her.

Not yet, I'm still wavering between home made bubble buckets like witchy had before her current setup and a Wilma. I want to build my own COB lights though...

The only thing with the Wilma is, the difficulty of growing 4 different strains in it due to nute requirements. And would 4 even be a wise move in my size tent... probably not. So I'd only be really able to grow 2. The tent is 80 deep x 120 wide x 180 tall. If I did the storage crate ones, I could maybe get 3 in, or at least the two I had would be a reasonable distance apart.

What are your opinions, @Itisi and @witchyhour ?

I've had same strains in the Wilma and they all wanted different feeds.

You run the nutes to suit the lightest feeder and foliar feed the heavier ones.

A well lit 4 pot in your space would easily pull 3/4 lb harvests.

If you are going down the route of bubble buckets, remember they are noisy, if your grow is near where you sleep.

That was something I hadn't considered, the noise of the air pumps. Is the Wilma noisy?

We noticed when we moved from air pumps to water pumps that the noise went from "noise" to sounding like you're in a Japanese garden full of fountains. You just hear the water splashing. [emoji2] [emoji106]

Silent. It uses a small circulating pump that's rubber mounted. I do stick an air pump in the reservoir once the roots get in there, but you don't need that running constantly.

The fans are the next noisy thing. I put mine on bungee cord to stop the vibration. When I first set up this grow I screwed the extract fan to a loft beam. The whole house hummed! A little vibration goes a long way.

Oh that's no good LOL, I'll be constantly getting up in the night for a wee!

I currently have a Ruck which is on a speed switch, but if I could find something quieter I'd be very happy. You wonder how silent the ones are that are advertised as "silent" - how much is just marketing bullshit?

A silent fan is a normal fan in a sound deadening box. You can make one up yourself. I was going to make one, I just moved the fans instead.

Well after a month with no reporting on my own stuff, here I am with the conclusion of my Spanish grow. Zambeza Blueberry came down today. A few bits had already been taken off and dried, then smoked, while I was away. Here's the rest:

I can't detect any hint of blueberries, it just smells like really nice weed to me (but I do have a cold). It's very sticky and there are even trichomes down the stalks of some of the leaves. No idea of weight as I don't really care. Some of it has just been flash dried in the microwave and I wanted a smoke report (it was a bit rough towards the end apparently). It was done by following a microwave steam method posted in 420 magazine.

Still undecided which way to grow once we've moved. I can't get all the parts that I want for my COB lights, which is proving to be a bugger, so I may have to go blurple. And the hydro thing is still up in the air. Who's got a really quiet extraction fan, then? I can hang from bungee cords with no problems which will help...

Here we go again LOL. Opinions? Money is at a premium after this overseas experiment! Lights, sound, music... oh no that's something else. Lights, hydro, extraction. Hubby owes me a birthday present.
