New Grower First Grow - Mephisto - Jammy Dodgers #2 (4)

This is untrue misinformation.

Transplant shock is not bro science, it is a real condition plants can suffer from that has been widely studied by scholars. Transplanting can damage the roots of your plants, and depriving them of water while transplanting is a great way to stunt them. I've read enough of this untrue misinformative bro science you're spreading.

@RedWolfDiesel , good luck with grow my friend.

Thank you brother, I'm just experiencing some growing pains. I'll find my rhythm soon enough

I think back to some of my first grows and I can honestly tell you I have killed hundreds of plants maybe more.... The internet wasn't around and all you had was people who might talk to you at the hydro store. Lots of good information on the net now days and you can learn a lot but also loads of misinformation you have to read over and discover for yourself what works. Some real good bro science out there as well as actual factual science behind growing cannabis. I will guarantee you as long as you keep trying you will become a great and skilled grower with loads of good information to share... Good luck and keep cracking at it!

@Jean-O is absolutely spot on. Keep hammering away and you'll iron it all out. Beware of all the misinfo out there, and research. There is a multitude of good factual relevant info out there.

Dr. Bruce Bugbee has several great presentations covering a wide range of Cannabis cultivation topics. Absolutely worth looking him up on YouTube.

Keep at it my friend...
:d5:

Chuckeye, part of me feels like you're right and I'm not gonna ignore it, so I went ahead and ordered some more Pro mix hp. I have mega crop, bud explosion and sweet candy. I'll also remove any of the small under developed plants and try to follow along with your journal when it comes to these new pots. Thanks for your comments and as for everyone else, please keep watching and showing your support. It means a lot

I hope we have helped put you on the right path !

My suggestions are only what I have found works for me.

Continue your research, keep a good journal, use any space space to experiment and question Everything including my suggestions :biggrin:

I think if we limit this discussion to cannabis you can agree transplant shock is rare.

How hard can it be ?

Start in a solo cup, when the leaves have reached the rim and there is evidence of roots coming out the bottom it is time.

Some find it helpful to use a clear cup inside a light fast one. Makes it easy to track the progress of the roots.

Use another cup to form a hole in the new home/medium when filling the pot to receive the seedling.

I don't remember suggesting depriving them of water while transplanting ? Or at any other time. A wet/dry cycle is not the same as depriving them.

In fact, I find a moist medium holds together better when removing it from the solo cup. A few gentle squeezes helps to separate the root ball from the cup, invert while supporting the plant with one hand and remove the cup with the other hand.

Place into the prepared hole.

And then water around the root ball, slowly increasing the amount as the plant grows.

This will encourage the roots to grow sideways and slowly increasing the amount of water as the plant uses it will encourage the roots to grow down. Too much water, too soon and the plant may not develop a full root ball.

Cheers

Day 23 ~~~ Going to give the plants plenty of water today. I'll be doing some changes soon, stay tuned keep blazing :smoker1:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Germ MC~~~
Second tent is now the MC tent. 3gal fabric pots, promix hp.
Megacrop and sweet candy at first with every watering then bud explosion at flower.
Recharge, fish sh!t, yucca once a week.
Lights 250 par and 24" away.
Temps are 75-83F, RH 50-60%. Great airflow from the fans.
I'm going to focus on my watering.
Pots watered till runoff with 75% strength seedling Megacrop and Sweet Candy (1.2g of MC, .6g of SC in 3-3.5L tap water) using their site calculator also mixed with the microbes. I weighed the pots dry vs saturated. They gain quite a few pounds. I'll keep the top soil moist with a few sprays of water every 12-24 hours but I won't water properly again until they're getting close to fully dry.
Left row front to back JD#2 and two DG's
Mid row (SW x CDLC) x Mango Smile, and SN X FS
Right row Skywalker and two Sour Stompers
Rose & Flower Mix 4-8-4 ? WTF ?
Megacrop and sweet candy at first with every watering then bud explosion at flower.
I wouldn't bother with sweet candy but that's just me :biggrin:
Recharge, fish sh!t, yucca once a week
Really ? Why ?
Cheers
My understanding is that using Fish Shit + Recharge is kind of overkill since they do the same thing. I saw someone recommended alternating weeks between the two. Fish Shit one week, Recharge the next. Etc...
