New Grower First Grow Ever (NY)

IMO within about a week or so max. I'd be checking trichs for cloudy/amber. If you're not seeing a lot of new bud growth(white pistols) and the trichs look good I'd go ahead and pull them

Day 62: Rotated pots. Would love more opinions on when to chop. First plant looks like it’s gettin there! I’d like to take them down at the same time. Again, thanks all!

1 looks nearly ready, no white pistils but you need to check trichomes. 2 sill has lots of white pistils. Not ready.

You did really well on your first grow.

Thanks guys. Really wanted to dry in this tent. I do have another small tent that’s empty, but no fans to move air around…idk what I’m going to do yet. I’ll post pics of the trichomes tomorrow.

Any guestimate on yield? Was hoping to get a combined 2-3 oz.

Also, not to get ahead of myself, but I can’t wait to start my second grow haha
It’s hard to judge yield from pics. It’s really gonna depend on how patient you are when trimming and how small of buds you’re willing to trim. My last grow I probably could have hit a pound but I was very impatient with trimming and didn’t waste time trimming up anything small. Over half the harvest ended up as shake or in the trim bag.

Day 63: Rotated pots.

Will all of my leaves fade/die before it’s time to harvest, or do I go strictly based off trichomes?

First plant is about done. I’m off Thursday and Friday this week, so thinking about chopping it Thursday morning. The second one clearly isn’t done, so I’ll let that go for a bit longer. I have a spare tent that’s empty - temps are right around 65 and RH is ~45%. I don’t have any more fans for my empty tent. Do you think it will be okay, or too risky (for mold)? I could leave the vents open. Is that sufficient? Thanks for all of the help!

I dry in a dark separate tent with my extraction fan on it's lowest setting. Cut the whole plant, snip all fan leaves, leave the sugar leaves and hang it upside down. I place a fan on the floor and point it blowing at the wall. Try to keep temps between 60-70°F and I try my best to keep rh between 55-62%. You're aiming for 62% rh on the buds so keeping it as close to that as possible and keeping it cool is the best route.

After about 4 or 5 days the sugar leaves will start to feel crispy. I then cut the branches down with buds on them in about 1ft long sections and then sweat the buds in brown paper bags for a day or two. Fill it up a bit, and then open another bag and place it over it as a cover. Put the bags back in your drying tent on a rack or hanging. Move the bags around and flip them every 6-12 hours. Then I'll pull one or two buds out after a day in the bags and test their Rh in a mason jar. If after a few hours it sits around 62 I pull it, trim it and bag it in grove bags for curing. If not it just goes back in the bags for another day or so. Hope that helps, drying and curing is an important part of the process that's easy to mess up so just really pay attention and you'll be good my man. Almost there! :headbang:
