Indoor First ever grow

Good luck Taffy, hoping it all comes together for you, that site that Baylee posted is very good source of information all in one place, in fact when I first came here he pointed me too it and has helped a lot, another tip he gave me was keep it simple, again very good advice for us new growers

Cheers guys. Second sprout this morning, woo hoo
well chuffed

Quick query for you all.
Out of my 3 seeds that I pre soaked, one had a small cracking in with some white poking out. At the time I assumed it was a tap root and therefore be the first to sprout.
However it still hasn't sprouted, even though the runt of the litter which wasn't expecting much from was actually the first.
Any ideas what the white bit poking out could of been? Should it of sprouted by now?
Somewhere in the region of 96 hours since I placed in soil. The others popped between 12 and 24 hours ago now

I usually go w 1000bulbs.com they have a multitude of high output cfls hids etc. at quite reasonable prices. Sorry to hear about your busted bulbs that's a real bummer. Happy growin my friend sounds like you are on it enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Spoke to my supplier today, he checked the splitters and said they weren't even fit for the bin lol. He's apologised and is sending 4 way splitters in lieu, replacing the bulb and lead also by overnight courier. Happy with that, although they should really check their own supplies.
can anyone comment on my cracked seed with the white sticking out?
Is it possible I planted it upside down if it were to be a tap root starting and it's taking a bit longer to find its way home???

it don't really matter what way it was planted,as it knows whats up and whats down.keep the top of the soil moist, some seeds can take a lil longer than others.but then again nothing in the growing world is 100%,we all lose a seed now and again.

I see what you mean by that archie it's just that because it had cracked and was 'showing something white' I thought it would be the cream of the crop.
I'm impatient, that's for sure, I've now extremely carefully scrapped of the very top and put some cling film over, I'm hoping this will do the trick.
I'm thinking if it hasn't popped within 48 hours of the rest, it's a lost cause.
Shame all in all, but life will go on, I've other seeds, just wanted to do a run of all northerns

Still nowt, so I had a little dig and found her. She was around 2 and half inches deep, oops, cooked up there somehow.
Good news is she's taken root, so I've only left less than half inch cover of soil now and also a small glass to try and persuade her along.

Hi all. Unfortunately my third seed didn't make it. I had a did and the root and seed were both greenish and gooey. So she's been thrown.
I've now replaced her with a white label snow ryder seed, so fingers crossed she'll pop in a few days.
My other 2 are looking healthy, temps are around 25-27 degrees with humidity around 55-60. Is the humidity a bit low or okay at the moment?
Is there any way of knowing the approximate depth of my roots? Like a ratio to the height of my seedling?
Also as I'm planing on doing a lst on my lil beauties, should I try and stretch them a bit?
My cfls are around 4 inches at the moment
Happy easter all
