Grow Mediums First DWC - Mephisto and Dutch Passion

Yeah, a dimmer isn't a good idea I agree.

Switched bucket to

~1ml/L sensi bloom
4ml/L voodoo
1ml/L camg+

Aaand my pH pen broke..... jumping up and down like a Jojo. Probably a bunch of crap sitting on the sensor or whatever it's called so left it in a glass of water maybe can dissolve some of it.

If the reading don't settle down shake it down like a thermometer. sometimes an air bubble can get trapped in there

Oh hey I found a link with some great care tips. I think they stole these from somewher else as I remember reading this crap like 10 years ago.Tho hatch has been around,so mighta been them VoV http://www.phmeters.com/faq.html

Thanks @brokencage I appreciate it!

Did anyone use the Hailea silent pumps? Im looking at the 60lpm one, ACO 9820. How silent is silent? Lol.. 50dB i think it is.

On Hailea website it dB specs say:
ACO 300A(my current pump) - <60dB
ACO 9820 - <40dB

Is it a noticable difference? Like... can you hear it well through a door?

God.. I'm so torn over this lol. If to keep my loud hot expensive monster pump or get 1 or 2 smaller ones.

What about glueing together styrofoam insulation to a box, will it be sufficient for keeping the noise down you think?

According to this http://www.noisehelp.com/noise-level-chart.html
My current pump is more like 75dB IMO.

I run one of these it is quite but it's the vibration that's makes the most noise I grow in my loft it's now sitting on a couple of inches of packing foam can't hear a thing from underneath

Notice that if you add 3dB, you actually double the sound pressure. So 3dB is two times louder, 6dB is already four times louder. So 20dB drop is really significant. In my opinion you are more than good with that pump. 60 lpm is a whole lot of air even if you divide that to couple reservoirs. Yeah and like @Wile e Peyote says, put some insulation for vibration below the pump. I just had some memory foam under my 48 lpm pump and it is pretty quiet in my cabinet.
