Here are the buckets, these are the 8s but the 13 are the same exact footprint only taller. The CC lids are great because I can easily access my roots to see what’s going on and add my nutrients.

So decided to update today as something is actually happening in the buckets today.
First let’s talk about the four plants in the QB room.
Temperature has been an issue to get stabilized so they have been about 5 degrees Fahrenheit lower than the cob room and I came home today to 99% humidity so guess it was time to get the extraction on. Now we are down to 50% so things should go well.
This room is on the 16/8 light s hefe and appears to be doing just as well as the room n 17/7. So far, I think flower is where we will see.

The other, just trained a branch, coming at ya

And then the girl in the COB room.

So meat and potatoes time
I have had the same watering in the buckets since first day and have added none. So far I have started with the initial charge of 1tsp and then added 1tsp each time it looked to need it as time went by. Now it’s about 4.5 weeks and you can see my buckets is down about 2” from the net pot. I will add MC directly to the bucket (2 tsp) and then top of with water directly from the spigot to th bottom of the pot. No Letting it bubble or letting it mix. I know cowboy stuff.

Here is the scooper I use, comes in the GH bag nutrient. I’m still using MC1 and supplementing in flower.

I’m certainly not suggesting or telling anyone to do what I do. And I’m certainly not trying to mislead or mess up anyone’s grows. Just sharing for knowledge and consideration.

The goal I set for myself when I started growing was to do it as easily and cheaply as possible but still maintain quality and quantity. I will risk things to learn how to get their. But if I can grow 5 zip plants with hard nuggs that are delicious in under 100 days on a 16/8 light schedule with cup of MC and not changing my water I’ll be super stoked.
WAtch me succeed or fall flat on my ass, either way entertaining as hell.

I like it but wow are those buckets pricey. Cheapest I can find the under current Solo 8 gallons are about $90 and each system comes with a bunch of stuff I don’t need. I have not been able to find anyone that will sell me just the buckets and lids in the states yet. I can’t believe they don’t sell replacement buckets or lids.

Yeah those buckets I got are only like $20 and don’t come with any thing. They are just generic buckets. The lids cost me about the same but they are from Current Culture and only sold by them. The close up of the bottom of the buckets had the manufacture name, maybe they have a distributor in you area if you were interested.

I knew when I started thinking about growing that I wanted to grow hydroponics and nothing else so is set about designing the perfect system to fit my needs. I read all the “should haves” and “ could have saved $” that I bit the bullet and put together what I wanted the first time.

I’ve seen a ton DWC bubble buckets made out of many different bucket systems but I just thought these made sense to get after seeing alot of what others struggle with in DWC.The CC lids with the access door just make life so simple. I can easily see roots, test PH and add anything without disturbing g the plant or any awkward plant wrangling.

But as we see here daily the medium or plant doesn’t matter nearly as much as the growers. I’m sure some of the pros can get more out of s solo cup than I can in hydro. I just remember seeing floating beds of lettuce growing on a Disney ride when I was a kid. I thought hydroponics was from the future, so now I feeling like I’m living in the future.

Just checked. Zenhydro has the buckets for $14. Just google “ ropak 8 gallon bucket”

Thanks for all the info. Don’t get me wrong, I have grown monsters in five gallon buckets. It would be so much easier with 8. I have a local distributor of CC products that has just reached out to me and I told them I just needed replacement buckets and lids. We shall see, otherwise I will check out that site.

Happy Days
The first 3 pictures are of the FC in the COB room under 17/7 light schedule. She’s starting her stretch and preflower push. Moved a few branches and took some fans and lower bud sites before this picture so she might look a little pissed off. She be ok.

And then into the QB room under the 16/8 schedule. Since all the plants are just a little different it’s thought to say for sure but in opinion they appear to be keeping up with the COB plant getting the extra hour.

All flower sites appear the same to me, but who knows.

Got th environment settled in this room now so it’s identical with the COB room now. I know it’s not very scientific but really waiting to see what happens with the 16/8 schedule. I have to run through the lights with a killawatt to see what voltage I’m pulling. I know the COB plant is getting about 75w because I have that rail turned up to flower the NCH, but it’s also further away. These are getting about 60w per plant but are lower.

Just a little bit of a what’s going on in the COB room. This is a critical plus CBD and is a beast, she’s about 40” around and 24” tall. Pictures just don’t do her justice. She’s a bit dark but not had any nitrogen in 2 weeks added. She’s never had the bucket changed or cleaned. Started with MC. Then MC and Maxibloom 50/50 and not kool bloom with epsom and cal/mg. And she’s been under 17/7. The rail she’s under is running 150w now that she’s in bloom and she’s getting all of it at about 12”

Lots of tops and secondaries starting to pack in the weight. Haven’t handled any buds yet to determine if she’s getting dense but I don’t worry about that till the end. I push them till they stop drinking, I assume 4 weeks left for this girl will put her close to 90-100 days.
