Dutch Passion Dutch Passion AutoXtreme in 30 litre airpot

No.
I feed 1 or 2 litres max in 30l pots so dont get no run off.
No sure if I should up that to get some run off to check.

Hey True! :)

Sorry to hear things are not going your way on this grow. I know what you mean about getting all the views in the world! Sometimes too many cooks can spoil the soup (rofl)

Without a real PH meter (not a probe) , i would have thought hydro would be a nightmare to get right - but if you got it nailed, then stick with it!

I know how it feels when things go wrong - i've despared in the past.

I'm sending some grow Karma your way! :) If you need any advice (hehe - it sounds like you're already overloaded with that), hit me up and I'll try and bring it back to the basics (that's what i do when things go wrong) .

Good luck!
Blue ^_^

Yes - Definately a good idea!

Watering until run off is good practice as it reduces the need to worry about salt build ups in the medium from the nutrients.

Kinda pushes things through the system :)

If only someone could have said that already.......

most told you how to check your ph and you seem to have 'liked' the post but not read or acted on it.

Yes TaNg said get that soil probe but until it comes there are other ways to do this.

Waiting 2 weeks in a plant life of 9 weeks aint the best.

It might not be too late matey, get some pictures up and some new details and im sure between us we will get you on the right track.

This is the best place for autos as the name suggests.

Come on buddy, Keep your chins up and you will be on the sweet home grown in no time lol

Hi true, you have some fantastic experienced growers advising you, I would check your run off. Ph level in soil is rather important for your plants and can make or break a grow....
best of luck brother

giving them a little extra water now and again will not do them any harm, if the pots are dry just now i would prepare some water for them and give them a good soaking until you start to see it dripping from the bottom that was usually my indicator to stop and let it soak through, collect that water in a jug or a cup and check it with your blue lab ph pen, be sure to let us know what the results are, you will have your plants back to health in no time, dont give up bro

Right people I will do the run off test! :)
Thanks for the push all of you...
Here's the thing though, when I water the plants tonight or tomorrow.

Im actually going to use plain oxygenated water as a mid grow flush. Coming off grow nutes and going fully onto bloom nutes so thought a little flush might be nice.

what do I set the PH to on this water, in a view to give me the best run off reading?

PH

what do I set the PH to on this water, in a view to give me the best run off reading?

Without knowing previous run off tests - I would go in at 6.3 as you have been, then catch the first 50ml of water that comes out of the holes and test that.

When we have that figure we can work out where you're soil ph is (that's the important part where your roots call "home" ^_^)

Then we can see if you're in the right range for nute uptake and from then can advise how to water and everything will be sweeeet from then :)

There's a guide to figure out soil ph by goAuto6 .. have you seen it? if not i'll post it up here

:d5:
edit: in for a penny .. in for a pound ^_^ here's the chart anyway - it's super usefull.

Rough Calculation Guide: By GoAuto6

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

Crackin set up mate all the best with everything will be following you're threads :gthumb:
