Not sure how true the story was but in my state that med legal. Next to a state that’s rec legal the cultivators that sell to the dispensary can’t have more than a certain amounts on hand over a certain period of time. Basically they have to know ahead of time exactly what the need is going to be. A lot of cultivators have been ramping up grows anticipating a need that does not seem to be appearing. It cost a ton of money in licensing and approval fees as well as operating costs and the cultivators are left to destroy what can’t be purchased by the dispensary. Some big ops have both ends of the supply chain so are really setting the smaller cultivators up to fail.
I don’t want to see the big boys come in nationally and destroy the market, but I’m almost wishing for it because all these mid level players that are taking advantage of the market are so high in there horse they need to be knocked off.
My state has been medical since 2006. Now that recreational is being proposed the cultivators and dispensary want to ban home growing entirely and the State seems to be on board with the idea. Sons of bitches need to have it ripped right out from under them like they wanna do with us.
The state thinks banning home grow medical will somehow break the black market. Every other day whole house unlicensed grows are being taken down. But somehow 6 medical plants must be supplying the black market and needs to be made illegal. Yeah, I’m going to get licensed and pay for plant tags and tell you I’m growing at home just to risk selling dime bags on street corners. Hypocrisy of government makes me made.
