Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

I’ve never gotten my trimmed buds to go longer than 3-5 days in brown bags. Leaving them on the branches has helped extend that, but so has using a cardboard box. My rh is in the 50-60% range. I’ve even overdried a few buds this way. I still use it though, don’t have the desire to hang them because there’s too much dang pet hair to get stuck to them

I use the lawn bags now too. They are great and two ply which is good. I did entire harvest of plants using these by taking some cardboard and reinforcing sides and front to maintain shape. Then I cut square out and mounted hygrometer right in bag and ran packing tape over it. I hung entire plants upside down in bags and stuck a pencil through lowest stem and staple bag to each side to suspend plant upside down (I didn't want flat buds like when I laid on bottom) and folded down rest of bag. Put in closet that was 65f 55-60rh for about 10 days. I didn't even look at the hygrometers first few days. It will be high but brown bag material will allow for humidity to escape I didn't seal the bags tight but i did bunch them up and I never burped or opened until around day 7-8 when i tried to snap some stems. By day 10 hygrometer read low 60s

Awesome thanks. I had a little panic attack when I saw 85, but it's already down to 78

Lower 70s usually

Hey Wildbill. You seem pretty experienced with this method. Going for it on my first harvest. I’m getting at least 75% and upwards of 80-81% at 24 hours in the bag. Does this seem reasonable to start? Too high? Little nervous. Got a nice harvest on my first plant and don’t want to ruin it….

I had a harvest go 10 days last summer due to the humidity.
@Sleepy T Just make sure you flip the bag and move them around a tiny bit every day.

I have been using bags for 15 years. I prefer the big ones for leaf collecting. you can put a whole branch in if so desired.

Yep, Been flipping and doing some looking every day. After 3 days, things seemed a little too crispy so put in the jars for a 8-12 hour check and RH was at 70%. Still pretty spongy to the squeeze. I think it must have mainly been the leftover sugar leaf.

Back in the bags for a day or two then will check again.

I do whole plant upside down inside them and it works great. no flat buds or need to mess with for 10-14 days.

Cut some foam for the bottom and stand her upright. Sugar leaves will stand out better and branches won't close inwards.. I made a drying box outta the big Earthbox with two reg EBs.

I've never had any issues drying in bags its also ny preferred method
