Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

I normally wet trim before putting in the bags. I did that in all grows. But i think they dry a bit fast and lose some smell/taste. I was thinking about leaving some sugar leaves and only trim after they are dry. What do you guys think? Will it help?

just had a good read of this, i have several paper bags that i've nicked off the wife. Once the plant is ready, am i right in chopping the fan leaves off, cutting the buds into gold ball sized pieces and straight into the bags, 1 layer?

I don't have another tent, so could i bag them up and hang them at the top of my tent which will be runnings with 3 other plants in?

I've set up a little plastic greenhouse in the corner of the room, which i was planning on putting a small piece of ducting from there to my tent so it pulls out some of the air and then using a small fan to push air around, which would allow me to hang the plants to dry but paper bags seems a better idea.

Do the bags need a small fan faced at them to encourage air circulation? Thanks.

you don't need any fans on the bags bro and i wet trim before i put mine in the bags but its user preference how much leaf you leave on but I've had huge success the last few years of drying absolutely everything in brown bags

When drying in paper bags, you must wet trim. paper bags work pretty well overall and are a good solution if you don't have anything else.

with that said, once you have seen the wedryer in action, you will never go back to paper bags. wedryer works well and can be used in small space.

so i recommend wedryer over paperbags but can confirm that paperbags with wet trim does work in a pinch.

Can even the XL handle much weed? How far do you trim before you put it in?

In brown bag drying, I just removed what fan leaves that were left and maintained enough stem to fit them in the big paper bags to help slow the dry

I have a portable mesh 5 layer rack system, a Wedryer and I also use Lawn and Garden paper bags (4 foot tall).......

For odor control you can't beat Wedryer, it eliminates a lot of odor. But I find it works best if u trim some of the branches you put in it. And the power cord is kinda short, so u need an outlet fairly close (4 to 5 feet).

Many ways to skin a cat though. I only recommend wedryers if odor control is important to you. They do a great job if you don't mind some of the buds having some flat sides on a few buds.

The XL can take about 4 lbs of wet weed....yielding you maybe 13 zees.

History of the brown bag. first time i used brown paper bags was 1965. have used them ever since. in the beginning all drying was done in bags.
usually the whole plant hung for a few days, the broken down to bud in bags. until ready. this was the method until people got technical.
and started modifiying. now i hang whole plant for as long as four days, then break down , in to bags with a Caliber humidity meter.
@66% rh. in to jars. brown bags are the best. i dont understand the use of these Paks that go in to jars. i tried them 10 years ago, wont mention brand name. worthless, unless you just don't know how to cure properly.

Like anything else, trial and error will teach you the best way for yourself. My GF bitches about the odors sometimes, I could care less myself.
