Sorry for the delay on this thread, but you know how life is....lol! anyway, I've decided to expand this a bit, as all my current plants are being grown organically. I have a couple with some issues, yep it happens in organic too. I think its from not enough lime in my recycled soil, the decomposition of roots and other organic matter can create ammonia and acidify the soil. I'm treating them with dolomite lime, I mix it with some water and water the plants after I've let them get as dry as i dare, so that the water will carry at least some of the lime, deep into the soil quickly.
I currently have 13 plants growing in recycled soil, some amended with GrowMore soil builder, some with worm castings, and some with both. I use no commercial fertilizers derived from minerals, etc. No particular reason other than, WHY? Organic works! I'm growing a total of 17 plants and my cost is less than $1.00 per plant.
the only additions to the plants have been a top dressing for some or worm castings, or soil builder.
