Dinafem Dinafem Quick Kush & Quick Critical

All caught up! Sorry again to read about the Hermie... That always stings. This is me when that happens...

Now @Waira can correct me if I'm wrong but regarding the "praying leaves" "pointing up leaves"... I always contributed that to transpiration rate being optimal or at 100% transpiration rate. Over watered or bone dry they are completely droopy (zero transpirtation). So do they do the opposite when they are in the prime zone?

Food for thought :coffee:

Looking fantastic by the way!!
 good find RG, I haven't seen this before! I can't remember where, but I read that this angling of leaves is usually about making minor adjustments to light intensity.... Think of the leaf as the solar panel it is, and how directly, squarely it faces the light to get the maximum exposure possible; the best posture for this is with the rays hitting straight on, no angle at all,... conversely if it's a bit too much, in the leaves' case, altering the face angle so as to make the light hit more obliquely will reduce the sheer intensity striking it; the sharper the angle, the less directly (squarely) the light hits,.. this affects the heat absorption as well of course, and all the implications for VPD, etc., associated with that.... We experience this ourselves every day, dawn and dusk right, so called "weak" sunlight.... color spectrum changes then too but that's another topic altogether!
....So is the common pre-sunset/lights out drop in petiole posture that looks like over/underwatering symptoms (it's not, leaves stay same shape, it's the petioles only that "relax"), which was sorta explained by AutolowRyder, which I now frikkin' forget where...... I wanted to ask him more anyway, so I'll PM him to see if he can expand on this,.. but it's some sort of physiological "gear-shifting" response very basically put....

Thank you :toke: I looked up the PAK and she looks very nice, my list of strains is unattainable in my lifetime.. Sigh...

My VPD was in the red, and I never really put it together that it could have that big of an impact on the grow? Looks like it can tho.

I gotta check up on your thread, I'm still doing catch up.
Oh my yes, bad VPD is hitting the "machine" right where it hurts most, so much depends on the ability to transpire well, anything that screws that up can bottleneck many things downstream of that... it's a combo-stress event, not just one thing like a simple defc., physical trauma, nute burn, root trauma, etc.,... This is a known cause for triggering hermie manifestations...

:smoking: OGC looks nice RG, a photo' right? .... yes, the impossible gotta-try list! I suggested her because I think she'd be a good fit for your conditions....

I got my environment (s) better balanced now, picked up a second humidifier but if we have a hot summer I'm gonna be in deep doo doo. I am *trying* to shut down the "back up" tent but I don't think it's possible, so I'll just keep doing what I can. Or just grow land race strains when it's hot. This is a landrace right? RIGHT???

OK, these gals grow fast! Done stretching of course, but she fills out more each day. It is day 36 of flower only, so she should have some nice, fat colas by the time she is done. In soil it is 49 days, but adding about a week for hydro puts me about at the end of this month.

To take the place of the culled Kush, is a second Critical in an AutoPot. She won't get as big but should finish in 49 days and will be good to compare. She won't be a slouch tho, and at 10 days into flower is forming nice buds already. I will start her on transition soon to bloom, her last feed was just some Vitamax, plus humic and fulvic acid as she was showing nute burn.

Those are looking great . looks like she is gonna yield good. What kinda stink doez she have. A 50 day flower period is appealing . I can't wait for her smoke report.

She reeks to high heaven! Even in veg you snip off a leaf and woooo funky. I am still trying to place the smell and can't, wish @Waira could be here he nails the fine odors perfect. Only thing I can nail is very spicy, almost like what you get with crushed fresh cilantro, wish I could explain. I keep rubbing and trying to get something in my head....

Great looking plants:d5:Gonna be some good smoke around your place very soon!:smokeit:

Thanks :smoking: I am looking forward to the effects of this resinous gal :smokeit:

Critical is looking real nice... Looks to be in top shape and should be a rewarding yield

I grew RQS critical a couple times and it smelled like oranges. Sounds like these are pretty different. Def interested to see how she finishes/smokes!

Looking at Seedfinder, the genetics are the same for half the Quick Critical (I think the mom is listed first), but the other half (dad's contribution) is different to get the "quick"in there (auto genetics). I imagine that could change the scent. But I will have another rub 'n sniff tonight (since I do anyway lol) and see if I can detect citrus.

I love this site for mapping https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Quick_Critical_Plus/Dinafem/
