Dialing In MEGA CROP for Auto's

Didn’t mean to imply anything other than user error - I completely agree that understanding the basics is key and definitely what I’m struggling with. Forums are far from ideal for capturing best practices in an easily preserved format and the noise to signal ratio is often very high, even for communities as mature and informed as this. That’s an artifact of the form and not the users though.

100% agree that the misinformation is way worse than poorly collected data. Maybe instead of an Infirmary thread there can just be a MegaCrop Best Practices thread or something. Or maybe just more of this, but trying to get through 50+ pages and multiple versions of the mix can be overwhelming.
50+ pages of issues should be a red flag, lol. I feel like in the 5 plus years I've been here, I can think of 3 maybe 4 growers that have found a way to make MC work for them. At some point the definition of insanity has to be considered, lol. I used the first version of MC.. Fried my plants.. Never touched the stuff again.. You shouldn't be "dialing in" a nutrient line.. That's what scientists/biologists are supposed to do in test labs before it hits the shelves, lol.

Again.. I don't believe that, lol.. I consider myself a "cannabis enthusiast", lol.. Im here EVERY DAY, enthusiastically growing and trying to help others. If they were enthusiasts, they would be in one on the 3 major threads we have full of MC issues/questions/cincerns, lol. They dropped a product on us and haven't been seen since, lol. That's not a cannabis enthusiast. RIU is based around photoperiods.. Autos are much different. They feed/grow differently.. So maybe it was created with photo period plants in mind.. But obviously they aren't enthused enough to deal with these continued issues on AFN. Or enthused enough to make a final version. IMO, it's not a badge of honor that they started this product on RIU, it more so explains why they arent around and why there are so many versions.
Ever so my argument to have a baseline for new comers to autoflowers.
@Proph the thread is only as good as lazy people will research.
Most humans need to/prefer some hand holding during the beginner phase.
A simple HOW TO USE MC with autoflowers would be invaluable to most ( not some).
Unless of course this puts some out of business.
Let me reword that..
Renders some less God like in the pot world.
Tbd with @Son of Hobbes what is in the end users best interests on the site.

I don't believe at all that autos need special nutrients. In fact, the whole idea of custom nutrients for specific strains of any plant is nothing but a marketing ploy. You can take a cannabis seed and plant it anywhere in the world short of alkaline deserts and salt flats, and it would probably even grow there if poorly. I didn't buy MC because its for cannabis, I bought it because of their concept of amino acid chelates and the organic additives. The versions changed based on user input. What's happened with them with regards to our forum I can't answer for. Maybe I'll email them and ask what's up. I use to chat with them a bit.

Can you tag me in any other thread of a nutrient line that needs a how to guide please.. Maybe tag greenleaf as well and give them that suggestion.. A how to use mega crop guide/thread should not come from a member of the community.. It should have been provided years ago by those that made the product after numerous people on here asking for that. As part of the welcoming wagon for new members it just sucks to see them go from the introduction thread to the infirmary thread in less than 60 days. MC is probably the most popular (and cheapest) line on here so it's very likely that's what they gravitate to. I just hope that at some point, someone is able to start a mega crop success thread! I'd love to get to that day!

EXACTLY , that is just my point...thank you...
I don't mean to point a gun at anybody..It's not in my nature.
Perhaps, if we approach GL with our concerns we may be listened to?

Given the history of AFN and negative discussions on their product support.
A new attitude is in order. (from both sides!)

In the present times, every business wants to grow and have the status of being the best in class.
Including autoflower nutes.
There will always be hardcore photo strain advocates.
Some of us believe the autos' are the future.
So, we're not to be dismissed as being a meanial class of pot growers.

It's in their better interest to listen to us.
Customer satisfaction will increase.
Sales will increase ...etc..etc...
Win win for all.

But then again, even Kodak went bankrupt.

. It's awfully damned funny I can grow great plants with it and have since day one. The real problem with it and every other nutrient package is everyone one has the attitude that more is better and too much is just enough! And of course all nutrient companies encourage this. How many people in this thread have started out over feeding? How many pages of advice have been given here? Isn't that what this community is about, setting the facts straight so we can grow good plants?

you know what, your negativity is getting on everyone's nerves. If you got a beef with Greenleaf, take it to them. You said your piece about that more than once.

No worries. I concede for the last time. Im washing my hands of the whole MC thing. It gets way to defensive... and if these issues are ok with most users, they should be ok with me as well.. I shouldnt care more than they do, lol.. I just HATE seeing sick plants.. From now on I will leave all of the MC issues in the infirmary alone and leave them for some of you guys to help with. I've made many apologies for commenting in/on mega crop topics.. Here is my last, Sorry guys! I will never interfere with or interrupt a MC topic again! I hope that a greenleaf rep can show up one day and provide some clarity for those that would like some. Lesson learned here! Happy Growing to all!

I would... If they were AROUND, lol.. Im not the issue bro.. Back up..

No worries @Proph , I appreciate the help you've provided.

My issues through my various grows have admittedly been alot of user error. In the beginning it was overwatering issues and out of range pH. I've learned better watering practices to prevent the overwatering, but still need some work on when to start full-pot watering after the seedling is established. The pH part was getting a better meter and learning what was more appropriate for my medium. With more grows under my belt and the various deficiencies I've been reducing feed strengths to reduce the effect of overfeeding and lockouts. Of course there are still tons of other factors including environmental factors and lighting that i've been fiddling with to produce better results.

An area I definitely want to improve on is a better understanding of the balance of nutrients required for the different stages. I know the general concepts, but not nearly enough of the finer details. Then once I have a better grasp of that, how to translate that into the ratios and amount of the nutrients to provide.

Always too much to learn, and not enough time.

I may try to go back to basics on my next run with MC v2 only and see how it goes, but I've been considering ordering up a couple of the small bags of the 2-part to give that a shot after seeing those monsters @Mañ'O'Green recently harvested. Wish they did another Free Sample offer with the 2-part...
