Dialing In MEGA CROP for Auto's

Hey MOG. I’ve been researching this thread but wanted to just ask- do you think that 1 part MC and Epson mixed at 3.5G and .5 g a gallon is a good mix for soil as well? I’m running a Spotless Mind at the moment under strong LEDs (if that matters) and it’s been yellowing quite a bit with 530 ppm MC/6.4 ph. I adjusted to a gallon of your spec 2 days ago and have been bottom feeding that, which seems to be an improvement.
I just wanted to check your thoughts on MC in soil with autopots and see if you thought the spreadsheet still applied. Thanks!!

I started my current run of a Fastbuds Orange Sherbet, Night Owl Electric Qoolaid and Mandalorian Black Strap with organics in Roots Organics Original. Around week 3 I decided to switch to MC v3 because of the uncertainty I've had this far running things organic. Everything has been great up til the last couple of days. (Day 39 today) I've been trying to run with pop22 method of 500-550ppm pH to 6.4. The Orange Sherbet looks fine as far as leaf color is concerned. The Electric Qoolaid has some purpling leaf stems and some yellowing leaves. The Black Strap looks like the leaves are starting to go purple.

Today I added 40ppm of Sweet Candy thinking maybe the purpling was a phosphorus deficiency on the Blackstrap and figured even if it wasn't the added PK wouldn't hurt since they're all three well into flower. This brought my ppm to 550.

Lastly, should I be watering to run off every time with MC or if the ppm are kept around 550 or below is it not really an issue. I'm in the habit of watering with out run off with organics. I do add a little Slf-100 once a week as well.

Appreciate any advice anyone may have. AFN has been an absolute wealth of knowledge. I've been lurking for a while now.

Hi SoSo!
@pop22 is the bomb, isn't he?
Just a question~ Is Original Roots Organics a soil, coco...what exactly is it? Does it contain nutes?
That is why I try to run the same strain each grow, I would go nuts (more than I already am!) trying to keep track of strains that might have different needs. Nice to meet you!!

Mom

It's a soil and does come with some nutrition but from what I've read it's usually depleted in about 10 days. Seems to have great drainage properties but both of the bags I've picked up so far have had fungus gnats like crazy. Probably going a different route next time around. Nice to meet you too!

My first grow was with soil, and I just didnt feel like I had enough knowledge over what was actually in the soil and what my plants were getting. I love coco, as everything she gets I know is what I PUT IN. Some people think it is to much work, but I am a hands on kinda mom  My FFOF had a gnat issue too. Its bad enough combating the everyday gnats and bugs...never mind when they are delivered right to your home by catching a free ride in a soil bag!
:crying:

Funny how we each pick different paths in growing, i am a soil and turning into a hydro guy slowly but i can't get it in me to buy expensive coco, if it was $13 a brick for canna coco i would try it but they want $30 a brick for 40L of coco and $50 for a 50L bag, i found a local (hour away drive) hydro shop that has canna products but then add time and gas into the picture and its back to expensive.

I am having fun playing with promix and making my own living soils and when i have space hydro mason jar grows :D gnats can be a issue if you don't do anything about them which was my 1st and 2nd grow lol i since have learned to curb their population in the 1st 1-2 weeks and they are gone for good.

I would love to try coco but not for the price it goes for these days :frowny: i like how it is a renewable resource and seems better to use over peatmoss but walmart or amazon don't want to sell it for affordable prices and what they do sell for cheap is full of sand, rusty blades, glass, and other foreign crap that is not coco in the compressed brick, i only trust canna coco brand at this stage in my research if i were to try it.

I love trying new growing methods but again it is very interesting to see how we all gravitated towards a method we call our own.

So true. I was a HansBrick follower and he used coco and autopots. It worked for him and it worked for me. The last time I bout Coco it was $13 a bag. Like @MassMom said I know what I am putting in and always the finger points back to me. Things have changed forever and some time in the future I hope to grow again.

I'll buy some coco soon i hope when it is on sale, its a bucket list thing for me now. I'm trying promix and autopots now, it is almost like i'm giving it everything it needs but i might have ph problems, time will tell i'm to new to this to say :smoking:

I hope you can grow again soon!

I mix up 7 days of nutes at 6.1. I have zero PPM in my water and starts at 8.0 PH. I add nutes the adjust PH to 6.1. I try at full bloom not to go over 550 PPM and let it drift after adjusting to 6.1. This works for me. BUT every grow and grower are unique. My major issues is I think the young ladies need more MC3 so at times I burn them. Once Im into week 3-4 the ladies can take what I slop them with :). Here in Colorado the suppliers of coco are many and so prices are low. Enjoy what you do and they will giveback to you. All my best to you and all here at AFN. My last grow I had a Fat Blueberry from Linda seeds go monster on me. She was over 20 oz. I still have so much of her left :pighug:
