i use cocostar. and have never flushed mine

here is product quote :

The CocoStar Coconut Bale 70 L weighs just 8 kg in its dehydrated state and can be converted to 70-75 L of ready-to-use coconut substrate by adding approx. 18 L of water. During a sophisticated production process the coconut substrate is washed with fresh water and adjusted to the correct pH (6,4) level. CocoStar Coconut Bale 70 L contains natural Trichoderma fungi which promote root growth, improve absorption of nutrients and increase the vitality of plants. The substrate is suitable for outdoor cultivation (gardens, balconies) and for cultivation under artificial light. Our products are 100% organic, biodegradable and environmentally friendly

seems here flushing will deprive you of some useful fungi
Like I said that is debate-able I'm more proactive then most others... I find flushing is good, actually several of brands I named also say to flush, even though they say it has been already.. so I trust a company when they say that, I wouldn't trust one who says not too! the reason the ones tell you not too, is because they probably have added products, so I wouldn't be using them types anyways...

it surely gives a clean "slate" to work with :pass:

i was in no way trying to discourage flushing coco .... with chem nutes it's a must for reuse with salt buildups ofc ...

but my brand dosen't seem to need... and with biotabs i have no salt buildup :headbang:
so i reuse without even

Everybody is doing ok here on day 24...A little droopy but they must be coming out of a sleep..Should be praying in a few hours...Even the branch that broke wasn't impacted..All new growth from that branch is perky and progressing..She said thanks for the band-aid.

actually I think that is another part of problem, people try treat coco as it's soil and it's just not....beneficial bact, should be added to coco grow, very rarely do ya ever have to flush, unless somehow come up with an issue... the flush I refer to is before there has been any plant set in the coco and if your totally controlling the grow, like I do then none of that will be an issue..I wouldn't think there would be any bact in a brick of coco, i'd sure hope not, it's dry as shit am not sure how anything could survive that...

yeah, I don't do the biotab thing... I prefer coco, because I can treat it as a hydro grow! only having a buffer.
