unfortuneatly no one stocks the lakes here and the management and protection is very poor in the last 10 to 15 years we have had a large population of easten europen people move to our country and while im not sayin they cant move to better them selfs or whatever the reason is but they come from a differnt culture where 90% of the fish are not returned so stocks have been destroyed theres only a fraction of what there used to be also been a massive increase in poaching with nets etc us locals do what we can but its out of controll

I did make another one and it is working okay....but it lacks any real snap....hard to find wood with the proper grain.

You could strengthen it with fiberglass in between the wood strips.

Being able to make a traditional bow is artwork in itself. But yeah finding the right pieces of wood to do it with is a challenge.

Some of the homemade bows i have seen wow...amazing stuff...as a excabinetmaker all I have to say is....its hard to make a nice bow!!.

I am telling you man...stickbows traditional is really cool...the speed I can accurately speed shoot when shooting with my buddy is awesome...I can launch 2 arrows to every one of his and i nail targets up with 30 yards....40 if I am on a roll and back is feeling okay. Bad day? 20 LOL Lots of days i wouldnt even want to shoot

I think lots of the competition shooters for recurves shoot lower weights do they not?

@bushmasterar15 My buddy shoots a matthews, and he bought a cheap recurve (Samik Sage) after shooting my old classic Browning Spartan bow a few times and liking it. Anyways now he is obsessed with tagging a buck with the recurve.

I converted back to traditional in the 90's. Love the full on instinct. You know where that arrows gonna go before you even draw. On target by the time its drawn. Pretty cool shit man
