I would love to metal detect a place like that!

I have a cheap one, but havnt found much. I do however have an excavation pit where I've found glass bottles and jars all day long, by the 50 gallon barrel. I have been selling them at a consignment shop after cleaning them up. Everything from 30s medicine bottles to blue glass cosmetics jars, old glass mason jar lids and stuff. There's no telling whats under there. I can say it is THE perfect spot for metal detecting. It's real rocky, so the soil is relatively natural and undisturbed. Meaning, shallow.

We've got about 11" of that evil, evil powdery stuff on the ground right now, from a "Blizzard" that was follwed by an Alberta Clipper. It's supposed to be around 55°f and rainy this weekend. Mother nature is a schizophrenic bitch around these parts.
