Lighting Chinese 50 Watt Full Spectrum COB Chip - No Driver Needed

Yeah I agree. From what reviews I can find, heat is always mentioned. Most all recommend a fan driven heat sink.

Thanks for your input @BigSm0 you know that you get what you pay for and I am sure this is no different. I really don't need a super light, I've been growing with 3x100 Mars, three of them in my 2x4x5 ft tall tent. I have to LST the shit of my girls to keep them from outgrowing the tent height. What I want is deeper canopy penetration. Been hearing alot about DIY COBs and want to try building a light that would at least equal the 3X100. The drivers in my old mars are 55-100 volt and there are 4 drivers. Can someone recommend a chip that would do what I want done? Thanks for helping out.
50 watts of citizen will equal the mars 300. Seems impossible but it’s very similar

What driver would you recommend for the "almost complete" autocob on your website? Is there an AFN discount or anything. If I wanted to run 2 autocobs, is there a singe driver that would run both?

Driver depends on how many cobs and what wattage you’re after. I usually run them at 1050ma for 55 watts each

The size is roughly 6” across and 5” tall. They weigh 3.5 pounds each.

I would like to try one out, can you give me a good price, I"ll order a complete 3500 autocob. I will be putting it in the middle of my tent with a mars 60x5 on one side and a GrowStar UFO Cob on the other. The GrowStar has 80x3w Bridgelux/Epileds + 1x60w Cree COB. I just hooked up the GrowStar yesterday.

Do you think the Angelina Reflector would be appropriate for my application?

Can autocob be put on a dimmer switch?

No dimmer switches for the cobs. It would only dim the driver voltage and the cob wouldn’t work.
Reflectors are tough, I don’t use them while others have good luck with them. Unfortunately no Afn discounts but I always offer a discount if I can avoid PayPal fees. I will DM you.

You can do the dimming side, but it gets more complicated than just a simple dimmer switch.

I know for a fact that you can get dimmer modules that go on the output of the driver which uses electronic trickery to smoothly dim the lights until "off", controlled by a simple "push to make, release to break normally open" switch or remote control module. We fired 70W at 24v through these things easily, and they'll handle up to 48v.

Here's the site, they're not cheap but I can give you an absolute guarantee that they work as I made hundreds of LED light fittings of different sizes for one firm here in Belgium so can vouch for their capability. You want to dim LED's, these things will do the job.
