New Grower CFs First Grow 6 NL X BB, 1 Lemon Skunk and 1 Jack Herer Photo with T5s

Your plants look great ... I've been using a technique called super cropping to control the height of my main stem ... basically you pinch the center stem just below the top bud until the stem can be bent to the side w/o breaking ... it will recover and should be bent again when it does (2-3 times) ... this makes the plant grow shorter and bushier .... I start at about 2 weeks ...

Thanks for the encouragement Chester! I actually decided to start ponytailing like i saw @A-Train do in one of his journals to slow down top growth for the ones that are branching out less. Most of the NLxBB has been getting a pretty even canopy with just a little LST. I will however keep that technique in mind if any dont go the way i want.

Going to be posting an update as soon as i finish writing it after this and am thinking about doing them daily since growth has been really picking up speed. Side and top pics this time.

Super cropping is a great tool, but I wouldn't recommend it yet. Only cause you are lacking experience with training a plant in general. I would try LST first. It is a much more forgiving for the beginner, and easy. My first super crop turned into my first try at cloning when I snapped the main stalk 90% off. That also was on a photo, if it was an auto I would have basically trashed that plant. I'm my opinion, learning some LST first will help you learn the boundaries of your plant. When you get comfortable bending a plant, then try further advanced training techniques. (Super cropping is not hard BTW, just easy to mess up)

Thanks for sharing that Fuggzy! Thats is pretty much what i am trying to avoid doing my first go around. Staying away from anything invasive like supercropping, topping, fimming and such. Doing the update now.

So here is the next update. Growth has exploded over just 2 days and i think they are really going to appreciate the light and room upgrades that are coming soon! I actually feel kind of bad not being able to give them all the light they want but it was a risk i decided to take instead of not starting anything until March 2016.

These first 5 are still getting 1ml/L each of Sensi Grow A and B and 4ml/L B-52 and i figure this as DAY 22.

NL x BB Fem Auto #1 The center cola on this one seems to just want to shoot for the light so i will be trying the ponytail method for 6hrs every 2nd day along with some side branch LST. Hoping i can slow that main down enough to let the side catch up in a week or 2.

NL X BB Fem Auto #2 My favorite pheno of these sofar. Hoping some of the later 3 turn out like this. Decided to go full LST on this one and its going great!

NL X BB Fem Auto #3 This one here seems to be a 3rd pheno in between the other 2. The top is heading up there but the side branches are on their way there aswell. Most likely going to try the ponytailing soon and some LST once the side come up a bit more.

Lemon Skunk Fem Auto. This was a freebie from a random breeder but i am actually kind of liking it and it should be done before anything else so il get some great smoke while i wait for everyone else. Nothing done here beside tucking those fan leaves and its going great!

Jack Here Fem PHOTO Another freebie from random breeder i grew just for the heck of it. Will most likely be used for experimenting with all the training techniques out there along with cloning. Could maybe make a decent mother for outdoors this summer depending how it all goes. Minor burn from 1/4 nutes but just 2 little tips since monday so i think il feed just a tiny bit less for the rest of the week.

Going to have to do the other 3 on a separate post since i maxed out the image count.

Update part 2.

These next little guys are taking the 1/4 nutes like a champ! They are also all developing some nice early side branches so i am hoping they all turn out like #2 which is my favorite sofar. Oh and for the record, these ones were started under 1/2 6400K 1/2 2700K while the others were started under 1/2 6400K 1/2 10000K just so i can see the difference it made.

No individual comments for these at this time. Just marvelous pictures! (And yes i know im not the best at taking them.....going to have to work on that!)

To conclude, these darn things are still surprising me everyday! I never even thought any plant could grow this much this fast. Im just hoping i can keep up with them and give them all the TLC they deserve.

I also realized the other day that since they are in my room where i sleep does that contribute to generating enough CO2 to make a difference for them? If so i just might have to make a bigger box when i move them just to keep doing it lol the 24h light hasent really been bothering me anyways. jk

I would like to end this with a big thanks to everyone here at AFN but especially to those who have been dropping by here to encourage me and share their wisdom! :smoking:

Thanks for joining in AutoConvert! I must saw i am as surprised as you at how well things are going. Now i just hope i can keep this up for a couple more months.

I am actually starting to have some issues with my Lemon Skunk but im going to try and figure it out before tonights update. Not that i dont want or appreciate any help but i have always been the type to try and solve my issues on my own first. It might even be nothing but a few splashes of nutes.

Ive never grown my own but i look forward to some dank buds! Cant complain much about what i can buy around here besides the price tho. Ive actually smoked tons of awesome strains like what everyone else here grows but 200 an oz is a bit much...

I just commented on another guys thread about sub-optimal conditions. The way I look at it is, it's better to spend $35 on seeds (i'm a cheap bastard) than it is to spend $50 a week waiting on optimal to come around. As you can see even with out the light you want, they are still doing really nice. These damn plants just want to grow, and that is great!

I have a micro cab with only ~38 watts of diy led, and "optimal" is not what most people call that. I had people tell me it was not enough, and I was wasting my money and time. I'd guess those guys are rocking 1k and higher. My first harvest also had those same people praising me on my frosty nugs. Just goes to show that optimal is just an opinion (with in reason). If I can get this from sub-optimal conditions, well optimal should just be the that much better.

So until you reach optimal, just go with what you have. It is doing you good so far! Imagine, it only get better as you go, I hope. Till next time, take care. :smoking:

Dam Fuggzy thats a sweet looking bud! I guess i wouldnt exactly say there isint enough like i just dont like how its distributed at this point.

Its looks like this Over the pots atm. ( l ll l ) The ( and ) are the sides of the pots. Outer lines end of foil tape reflector and inner lines being the bulbs. I think this just dosent get enough light inside my bushier ones right now but all part of the plan with the upgrades happening just in time this weekend with 4x more light coming plus the nice reflective box :)

Thanks for your input as always Fuggzy Buddy!
