Grow Mediums Cat tries the 1st Northern Lights grow in coco

Dude just quick dry what you need for 5-6 days and let dry slowly the rest trust me, the rest gonna be much better.
Im always doing the same when my jars are empty, just quick drying what i actually want to smoke.
Im useing the oven. 50 degrees opened door with convection.
Peace!
Awright Bud. I will dry most of it slowly. How long do you dry at 50 degrees in the oven? Do you wrap it in foil, or something?

chop the bud for tiny piecies and check after 5 minutes. Do with less first and u not gonna waste too much if its drying too quickly. If u want doing with unchopped buds u should do it in 3 phase because the middle is always staying wet. So put in the overn for 5-7minutes check it if the appearance looks dry enough put it in the jar wait 2-3 hours and itsg gonna be wet again then do this again. But my advice chop the bud and try with less for a blunt first ;) every oven is different u know. ;) But dont forget to let the door open.

Thanks mate, I'm really chuffed about the bigger one... can't wait to puff her:smoking:

I'm having a little crisis today. I discovered my carbon filter isn't scrubbing the smell very well. I had it plumbed into the chimney, but today I re-rooted it into the cupboard to make sure it was dealing with the pong. Unfortunately, there's a smell of weed coming through the extraction ducting. It's a cheap carbon filter that came with a fan, which I no longer use. The current fan extracts up to 220M3/hr, while the carbon filter only handles up to 200 M3/hr. I think I heard @Fuggzy saying to someone else that the extraction fan needs to be the same rating as the carbon filter, but I can't be sure if this is my problem or maybe the carbon was just shit.

If anyone could recommend a reasonably priced 4" carbon filter that I can trust, I'd be grateful. The trouble is, I think my neighbour is being affected by the smell. It's a long story, so I just need to trust that the carbon is doing the job and not pumping weed aroma into the chimney. I guess I can kiss goodbye to my new camera this month:yoinks:

I agree with Bailey on this. Go to the pet store, and get "Activated Carbon" it will be in the fish section, and used for their filtration systems. I have yet yo refill a filter, but have made one, and it is the EXACT same thing in our scrubbers. (your water filters too if you have one) This is the exact product I used.

I have not personally bought a carbon sleeve, but think I will now. Thats a great Idea @Bailey Can you recommend a decent sleeve for that bud?

With the cfm or M3/hr you want them to match as close as you can. The air can either pass to fast, or slow and give you undesirable results. Ultimately though, trust your nose, or in my case I trust my non-smoking wife's nose. There is a chance the carbon in the filter was no good to start. Some things will kill a filter fast, like being stored in open air, high levels of humidity, the higher the levels, the worse the filter will preform. If you do go and refill the filter yourself, be sure to tightly seal up any left over carbon for later uses. Carbon is also used in the same manner as silica, and rice are for drawing in moisture, and regulating rH in things like humidors, seed containers, pill containers, and so on.

If you decide to purchase a filter still, I'd be happy to help you find one, and if you need help refilling the old one, still here for a hand. Take care and if you need just hit me up. ;)
