Grow Mediums Cat tries the 1st Northern Lights grow in coco

Okay, so I thought I’d do a little update on my babies. I ordered a camera from Amazon last week, but the quality of pics were diabolical, so I need to make do with my PC cam for now. Apologies for the quality of pics

Feeding for the two plants has been (per 1 gallon of water) 6ml Flora Bloom & 5ml calmag. EC is around 1.8/1.9 and the Ph 5.8/5.9. I’ve just started to cut down the calmag to 2.5ml per feed and today both plants received a PK boost

I bought a jewellers loop last week and it was amazin to see the trichs for the first time.... I can't stop checking and smelling!

The first couple of pics are of my oldest Northern Lights auto, she’s now 10wks old. I probably did a little too much defoliation last week, but the inside of the plant was very bushy and quite damp

These last few days, I’ve watched the trichs change from clear to milky. I’d prefer to use her as a daytime smoke and wonder when I can harvest. TBH, I'd like to get her out the way and start another Northern Light

The next two pics are of her sister, she's now 8wks and, overall, she has been doing a lot better. I made a mistake with her height. She’s not 3ft tall, but just over 2.5ft @ 33". It’s surprising to see a difference in her trichs compared to her older sister and I imagine she has a few weeks to go yet.

That's it folks. Any tips and advice would be appreciated

I always use this technique but. I take them just a few at a time and only leafs that are hindering light to bud sites the girls are gorgeous cat
Hi @Bailey. Sorry, I just noticed this msg today. I will be doing defoliation from now on...cheers

id wait till they were 100% milky for a nice smoke cat, ive found that too many clear trichs lead to an inferior product, somethings just missing in the high....the white pistils/hairs havent turned orange and receded into the flower yet on your girl either...

Yes, under the loop, the pistils are 50% orange/50% white and you're right, they haven't yet receded. I'll be patient for a little while longer:doh:

Sorry, can I ask... should I start the flush when they're milky or before?

patience is a virtue! your buds still have swelling to do and pack on the weight, you will be happy you waited....

ok so i just did my first coco flush on my bubba kush and i only flushed her for 5days and there is absolutely no nute taste in the smoke, VERY Smooth and flavorful after a week in the jar.... so i WILL NOT flush longer than 5 days personally.... but the concensus is a week but with coco it doesnt hold nutes like soil does and you can flush it alot faster... what i did is when i was ready to flush her i ran about 2.5-3 gals of water through the coco in the sink and then used AN flawless finish which is a flushing agent(this may have to do with only needing to flush for 5 days, im going to try harvesting a plant at 4 days to see if i can get 1 less day flush) but you can just use PH'd water for your flush.. i use VERY high amounts of nutes:yellowcard: and my smoke is smooth and pure as hell with a 5 day flush so just try a week and see how you like that.... now about when to flush, if you want to harvest at all milky i would start the flush when you have about 90% milky and 10% clear... now different plants mature at different rates as well tho... i dont know if that affects the way the trichs age...

I totally agree with @tripaholic88 when taken down early it's a total waste because like he said there not a potent high
Cheers @Bailey. I wonder if yer struggling with tent temps like I am at the moment. At last we have some summer! Yes, I've resigned my impatience to a little longer. Sensi say they should finish 60-90 days, but it will prob be more like 100, or more. Just watched an excellent Grow pot Cheaply video on trichs. Do you just use ph'd water for flush or do you use a flushing agent?
