Grow Mediums Cat tries the 1st Northern Lights grow in coco

I love the orange pistils, looking at her I don't think she's quite ready yet either, she's really big for an auto too,I'd say you're going to be looking at end of July, first week in August mate, there's a good post about harvesting in the autoflower academy by Muddy I think, looking at the leaves :welcome:

If you think she looks big, this is her sister. She's almost 3ft tall

Following my last post re my little bushy Northern Lights auto, @tripaholic88 & @MedGrower recommended defoliating the plant to allow more light to the buds. I know defoliation is quite a controversial subject in the grower’s world, but I wish I'd learned this technique earlier because I would’ve been able to manage her a lot better.

This is a pic of before defoliation, she’s now 66days old

And this is a pic 24hrs after defoliation

My other N/L auto is 54 days old and is now almost 3ft tall. I also decided to try defoliating her too.

This is a pic before I defoliated

In a few days I’ll try a little more defoliation to both plants, as it really does look like the buds respond better to the additional light.

Good job on defoliation, Cat! I am sure they will still benefit from it. Just remember to never defoliate sick / weak plants, they need to be healthy and robust ones that can handle it. I tend to start little by little in vegetative period already and get them used to it.

LOL now I defoliate my AU every two days and it just keeps pushing more leaf as it enters flowering. It is just crazy how bushy it gets!

I hope your buds gets ripped and large bro!

Thanks mate. TBH the little plant is doin better but if she doesn't develop more bud, I'd rather pull her to free up space for a new girl!

I always use this technique but. I take them just a few at a time and only leafs that are hindering light to bud sites the girls are gorgeous cat
