Did my first grow back in 2020 with help from these forums. Was a newbie then. Had a few grows since then, learned a lot. Had crazy hauls. 1 grow is able to yield enough for 1 medical individual to last 9-10 months, using about 2 oz a month.

This time I'm doing some new things instead of the 5 gal fabric pots. I went ahead and bought a floraflex system instead of just piecing it together DIY like a lot of guides show is possible. I'm using the 5 gallon propots with the drainage pots. It has an elbow joint matrix bubbler which was an addon to the included T piece they give you, so if I decide down the road to up the tent to a 4x8, then I'm already set for 4 more plants. I picked up a little giant condensate pump to mostly automate drainage outside of emptying the filled drain tank 1 a week. I've got a 396 ecoplus pump sitting in a 20gallon craftsman container. It has a water fan(?) to cycle the container essentially 7 times an hour.. Im using the floraflex feed and have dosed the tank once so far bringing my ppm to 430ppm roughly with a pH of 5.9-6.0. The pH tends to swing every few days a few points so I add pH down as needed. The lights/fan/filter are the same that I used in my first grow journal.

So we popped sprouts on 11/15 and moved to their 5 gallon pots on the 16th. on the 17th we had16 gallon res mixed 3tsp v1 2.5tsp v2
420ppm / 6.0 pH 57* temp water (v1/v2 are the floraflex nutrients for all following references throughout the grow).
11/17/22 - watered til drain
11/20/22 - watered for 33 seconds allowing 1 qt run off.

Pics of them on 11/21/22:

Currently the 3 mains from Mephisto are looking gorgeous. little neut burn on the cannacheese cause it's sensitive like it's been every time I've run it but itll take the pushing well. My biggest gripe at present is the freebie I popped that most folks seem to call sour chem bears {(cdlc x 3bog) x sour stomper}.. it had issues with its cots and didnt pop its leaves for 2-3 days after the others had an you can see the size diff already. My current dilemma is whether or not I let it grow out, or if I pull it and drop in a Samsquanch OG I've germinated that looks like it's doing well off the bat.

And that's where we're at for now.

Off to a good start! I'll be following along; see how Floraflex treats ya. GL! :peace:

Yea, haven't seen a lot of feedback on the floraflex setup or nutrients, just comments here and there. Figured I'd document this one so folks interested in a ready to go system could see how it may work for them. Thanks for keepin tabs! Should be a good journey.

Alright, so we ended up pulling out the sour chem bear freebie because it was a mutant that was growing but weirdly. the SamOG took its placed, it had a sprout time of 4 days later than the others (we planted it as soon as the sour chem popped and showed potential signs of weirdness so we'd be ready to trade places if need be, turned out we needed to)

Otherwise, everything has been going pretty well. Potentially forcing heavier feeds than they want, but will continue to monitor

Schedule will include previous and updated actions taken:

  1. 11-15-22 popped/transplanted
  2. 11-17-22 - 16 gallon res mixed 3tsp v1 2.5tsp v2 -420ppm / 6.0 pH 57* temp water
  3. 11-20-22 - ^^^ 5.7pH 33 seconds feed
  4. 11-22-22 - ^^^ 5.8pH 33 seconds feed
  5. 11-22-22 - PM removed sour chem bears freebie and replaced with samsquanch OG (sprouted 11-19)
  6. 11-23-22 - ^^^ 5.7pH 33 seconds feed
  7. 11-23-22 - reconfigured auto drain, plant response to feeds appropriate. continue following floraflex feed chart as prescribed
  8. 11-24-22 - ^^^ 5.7pH 33 seconds feed
  9. 11-25-22 - ^^^ 5.8pH 33 seconds feed
  10. 11-26-22 - ^^^ 5.9pH 33 seconds feed - raised lights to 24" and increased wattage to 75%
pH drift continues to inch up over the week, drift not unmanageable and within bounds of expected behavior. Still on first reservoir with a 440ppm feed, having increased feeding times. Will stop feed for 24 hours soon and setup a new res with slightly increased ppm as well as continuing daily feeds. By end of next weekend, goal is to begin 2-3 daily feeds. Will see their reactions to amping the dailies. SamOG likely to throw biggest fit being 4 days behind but given it grows a little slower and bigger we will see.

Otherwise, some update pictures for them all. CC still showing those burnt tips from early on, bnut bounced back great and is the largest of the group currently. CC has never failed to be a high yield producer for me and one of the best daily meds to have on hand without getting utterly skunked. Keeping my eye out for the next time its on the Meph store... if it doesnt come soon I may pickup some of the sweet seeds Red Pure auto cbd. Seems to have good reviews and we need a quality CBD on hand.

No journal update today. Growth pics included. Day 13 for the big 3 and day 9 for samOG. The last two pics are of the cannacheese. She's acting wild and growing tall quick. She originally acted like she had a weaker stem so I had her propped up but upon raising the lights and increasing their intensity she popped her back out over night. I included a picture showing her doing a weird bend and then realigning herself to grow perfectly straight. Will keep an eye on her for oddities but the way she's pushed over night, I think she's got herself figured out now.

  14. 11-27-22 - ^^^ 5.8pH 33 seconds feed - raised lights to 32" as some leaves appear to be showing light stress. Will monitor accordingly.
  15. 11-27-22 - Put in a large order to multiverse beans today, 12 different strains of Sweet Seeds. Freebies look to include 8x Pound town auto - HSC, 3x atlas gummie bear, 3x atlas froot by the foot, 4x citrus bubble gum (mutant gens), 4x emerald fire OG (HSC), 4x GMO Auto (atlas)
  16. 11-28-22 - ^^^ 5.6pH 33 seconds feed Raised lights to 36" and dialed lights up to 85%
  17. 11-28-22 - mixed new reservoir. 20gallons 5tsp FLoralfex V1 and v2 each. 715ppm
  18. 11-28-22 - Screwed up and forgot to shut the floraflex flow valve to the off position so created a siphon when I filled my reservoir. Reversed probably 2-3 quarts of untreated water with a pH of 7.4 so after prepping res, immediately flushed/fed again with treated water of 715ppm at 5.8pH. Fun times.
  19. 11-28-22 - ^^^ 5.7pH 715ppm 33 sec feed PM (2nd feed)
  20. 11-29-22 - ^^^ 5.7pH 715ppm 33 sec feed AM

  22. 11-30-22 - ^^^ 5.6pH 715ppm 33 sec feed AM
  23. 11-30-22 - power went out for a few hours last night, woke up at 1am when power came back to get lights turned back off and quickly doctor crap before gettin back to bed. Woke up this AM to find a slow drip reverse siphon going on. Not sure why it didnt show before now, but there it was. So drilled a higher hole in the pvc of the res and that has fixed that problem. Talk about dumb. Didn't do my homework as well as I thought I had here but the whole pvc auto irrigation thing is a first and learning curves will exist. Flipside is the Floraflex setup has a valve I could have turned to the off position each time Im done watering and this wouldnt have been an issue, but I'd like it more automated than that. At this point that Floraflex valve is the "oh shit handle" in the car. I appreciate that it's there when I absolutely need it. Plants have a bit of droop going on now, and I'm thinking it may be the 10* temp drop as a result of finally running the exhaust out the window instead of letting it circulate in the room. Room temp dropped from 72* to 60-61. May end up buying a dehumidifer and letting the exhaust empty in to the room to maintain a higher temp but still undecided at present. Will update with pics later.
  24. week 3

Toof Decay pouty as hell with a nasty claw forming. Shaping up a lot like my first grow with northern cheese haze which pushed through and had some great flower. Hopefully the Toof does the same. SamOG gettin runt treatment being brought in 4 days behind the others, I told her she sinks or swims so we'll see. Read she's a slow grower in general though so we'll find out. Cannacheese really starting to hit a nice stretch and skywalker looking almost perfect with the way she's gettin treated. Can't please em all when ya do a communal feed :D
edit: to be fair i'll give toof the benefit of the doubt, it is an hour or so from lights out so maybe she's just getting her evening droop on.

Floralfex auto system worth the price - floraflex neuts.. seem good but maybe a touch stronger than labeled.
Pics below journal. I really do enjoy the floraflex system as a whole. The automation it allows is super nice. Probably could have built something cheaper and if I didnt' have so much going on I probably would have. Just being able to purchase everything needed and connect it and go is a life saver on stress right now though. Ill probably order more drainpots for the 4x8 in january when i take this 5x5 down and put up the 4x8. They've made me a fan. I had to by a water pump and a condensate pump/drain pump outside of the kit and some larger totes for the res and drain tank but it's been great. I really really enjoy it.

  25. 12-02-22 - ^^^ 5.9pH 714ppm 30 sec feed AM. Backed off twice daily feeds. Between the power outage, light change, learning the floraflex nutrient strength, and upping feed amounts toof decay and cannacheese started developing a mean claw. At the same time, they're both really taking off so I may be pushing them just a touch more than they want, but they can handle it, or theyre pouty also from all the commotion/changes they've endured the last 4-5 days. They're sprouting upwards an onwards however so that's always a good sign, not much neut burn either, just the claw. May be a rough month. We have to go for two hip injections and an MRI in the next week and the following so hopefully that goes better than we've anticipated. Some concrete answers would be ideal so better treatment can be orchestrated. Debating on getting a small speaker for the girls to play music for so they tune out some of my stress lol.
Thanks for checking in. Always a good journey when you grow.

Not a big update outside of journal update. Busy week. Nother Dr appointment for another hip injection tomorrow. AC Infinity 8x4 tent came in and got everything changed over. I like it a lot but I do miss the extra foot in height the jarden 5x5 gave me. I'm a taller guy and I really dislike bending like I do now. Still waiting for the diablo 750's top be shipped by HLG. They said 2 week lead time, so 1.5 weeks down I guess. I'll try to get some pics posted this weekend. We topped the Cannacheese and skystomper and did some great LST on the toof decay.. she was really responsive. Canna and Sky took the chop great and Sky is really pushing new growth hard.

    26. 12-03-22 - ^^^ 5.9pH 714 ppm 45 sec feed AM longer feeds ow as roots seem to have developed enough to not alow run off with 30 secs run. time currently set to 48 seconds to generate 10% runoff.
    27. 12-04-22 - ^^^ 5.8pH 714ppm 45sec feed AM - Toof and Sky really starting to bush out and and canna starting to get that solid cannacheese stretch. Will likely be topping canna in a few days and potentially sky and toof if they decide to start any stretches.. as it stands, they're seemign pretty squat and may just end up doing a balled up bush as in the past. Defol will probably be highly encouraged on those two. SamOG growing slow but surely as is her strain. looking really healthy otherwise. Wildly unlike the neon yellow mutant I had in my first journal a couple years ago.
    28. 12-05-22 - ^^^ 5.6pH 714ppm 55sec feed PM - topped Cannacheese and skywalker. Cannacheese stem smelt like fresh grass and skywalker smelled just like a fresh cut watermelon slice. Wild. Did some LST to both of these guys and did some leaf tucking on the toof decay. Was going to top Toof decay but not sure currently as she is staying really squat and dense. Reminds me of CDLC.
    29. 12-06-22 - ^^^ 5.6pH 714ppm 55sec feed AM - took down the 5x5 and put up the 8x4, plants were without light for about an hour
    30. 12-07-22 - ^^^ 5.7pH 714ppm 75sec feed AM - Mixed new res/feed. Backed down from previous dosing strat. 3.5TSP of each V1 and V2, while skywalker shows no curl at all, cannacheese, toof decay, samOG all have curled down tips indicating potential nitrogen surplus. Will pump feeds to twice daily again as plants look as if they are about to hit preflower stretch soon and will need to switch to bloom nutes as soon as this tank is done.

  23. 12-01-22 - ^^^ 5.9pH 714ppm 30 sec feed AM

  24. 12-02-22 - ^^^ 5.9pH 714ppm 30 sec feed AM.

  25. 12-03-22 - ^^^ 5.9pH 714 ppm 45 sec feed AM longer feeds ow as roots seem to have developed enough to not alow run off with 30 secs run. time currently set to 48 seconds to generate 10% runoff.

  26. 12-04-22 - ^^^ 5.8pH 714ppm 45sec feed AM - Toof and Sky really starting to bush out and and canna starting to get that solid cannacheese stretch.

  27. 12-05-22 - ^^^ 5.6pH 714ppm 55sec feed PM - topped Cannacheese and skywalker.

  28. 12-06-22 - ^^^ 5.6pH 714ppm 55sec feed AM - took down the 5x5 and put up the 8x4, plants were without light for about an hour

  29. 12-07-22 - ^^^ 5.7pH 714ppm 75sec feed AM - Mixed new res/feed.

  30. Week 4
  31. 12-08-22 - ^^^ 5.6pH 550ppm 75sec feed AM

  32. 12-08-22 - ^^^ 5.6pH 550ppm 75sec feed PM

  33. 12-09-22 - ^^^ 5.7pH 550ppm 75sec feed AM12-09-22 (day 24) - ^^^ 5.7pH 550ppm 75sec feed PM - lower nutes and more frequent feeds, really seems to be aiding growth. Roots are blowing out the bottoms of all containers. Debating on defol but not still waffling. Canna and skywalker started throwing pistils the other day, 2-3 days ago, SamOG is just so squat compared to when i've grown her in the past. I havent seen a an indica fan leaf pheno with her but looks like that's the case this time. Reminds me of CDLC. Toof Decay bushing but starting to spread out decently now. Can't wait for this one tbh. One of my favs.
