New Grower Candy cane and train wreck auto grow

I harvested the candy cane and trainwreck plant yesterday and they are drying in a second box. The small buds that I harvested on Saturday are getting close to the cure stage I’ll likely trim them up this evening and start curing tomorrow. The buds on the candy cane plant were pretty big considering the pot I grew it in was only 1.3 gallons.

Put the buds from the harvest last Saturday into jars yesterday. The last trainwreck plant was dry enough to put into a big ziplock bag and to weigh it. I put the hygrometer in the bag overnight but found the humidity was 67 percent this morning. I put those buds into a shoe box with some holes in it and back the drying box. The three trainwreck plants yielded me just over six ounces. It will likely change after the buds from the third plant dry a bit more.

The buds from the candy cane plant are way more dense than the trainwreck strain. I am looking forward to seeing the yield from that plant.

I suppose if I had used larger pots than the 1.3 gallon ones I used the yield would have been higher. I am content with how things turned out for my first grow.

For my next grow (photo period) I have a few 7 gallon planters that I’ll likely use and I don’t plan on Flowering more than one plant at a time from now on. The smell was way way way to much to deal with for a person living in a condo once they were harvested.

Awesome job man! Just tell the neighbours some damn skunks must’ve moved into the neighbourhood [emoji23][emoji23]

Easy smoking! [emoji869]
My wife had to go upstairs with a bottle of wine to placate the neighbour. My wife is a medical card holder and made the excuse that because of the arctic temps we are experiencing she was smoking in the storage room.

Everything is dry enough to be in jars. Final mass was 252 grams. That works out to .625 grams per watt or just under 28 grams per square foot. If I had a hps light for flowering and had planted in bigger pots I believe I could have done better.

I always consider it a good job if they are harvested and cured.
Very true. I am probably being harder on myself than I should be. I didn’t even know they were autoflowers until after I had transplanted them. Then I read that transplanting autos is bad. I read extensively on growing for four years before popping a single seed and it was all to do with photo period plants. I think anyone who says autos are easy to grow should try it. You have a very limited amount of time to get them ready for flower unlike photos. I am really looking forward to my next run. Looking forward to trying the candy cane tonight.
