Until someone with a the proper nursery or breeder licence starts selling seeds I doubt we will see any legal seeds. It is not in the LPs interest to help anyone grow at home.

so when weed was illegal i could buy seeds from my local head shop(the store with the bongs) no question asked, now it's legal to grow the head shops can't sell seeds.

The problem with the canadian seed game is that it takes just as much money wether its a production grow or clone/seed nursery to get started..we're talking hundreds of thousands or more to start up..plus all the redtape.
I highly doubt you'll ever see reg seed of anytype from OCS due to the 4 plant count. quality reg auto seed is not easily available with only a handful of breeders offering reg seed....things were different in the beginning.
I do know a canadian autobreeder with an ACMPR who will only be offering reg seeds....but I'm not gonna violate the TOU, I'll just leave it there for now.
I'm not aware what the rules for testers here at AFN are anymore because I've been away so long, but I'll be contacting @Son of Hobbes soon to clarify.

Would it cost hundreds of thousands to set up a legit nursery?
The nursery license itself only allows for a 600 sq.ft space; that's only 20' x 30'. The security requirements are where it gets real nutty.

I've said it before, but there are legal regular autoflower seeds out there - unfortunately they're hemp hearts from the grocery store. Interesting from a legal standpoint anyways.

The stipulations also say you cannot grow from/in a dwelling(home).
So, add rent to make $1000 of seed a month with $2000 of rent.
Who ever wrote these laws .
Was f'ing stoned for shure .

Looks like the OCS has added some options to their seed menu. Unfortunately, they're descriptions are pathetic. Regs? Autos?

There is money in legal seed.
This is an interesting article describing that 45,000 legal seeds were sold in Canada between Oct 2018 and June 2019 (8 mos) . At $15/seed that's $675,000. It all went to Tweed as far as I know, they were the only producer for quite awhile.
