Indoor Brother Mendels Purple Thai Stick OG

I'm not worried about the worms self-regulating in the 7 gal pots, I'm hoping they will just survive and made a decent contribution. The EBs and a 15 gal are pretty easy and the worms are a very important part. It's just more difficult to keep the environment for the worms optimal AND optimal for the girl.

Also @Sour D too! I wonder if that candy dawg is maybe having issues cuz I put too much straw in there that I covered with compost for the worms! Could be holding too much moisture and therefore roots could be staying soggy even when reservoir went totally dry between waterings!
She is rough now! :yoinks:

That's entirely possible, but I kinda doubt it. It may have contributory, but it wasn't the cause. Ya did have several things and they just seemed to snowball.
The two biggest things were using the EM1 at the strength and frequency of use and probably the amount, style and/or the distribution of the dolomite. Everything came from those two. MAYBE if the dolomite was correct in type and maybe amount, it might have buffered the Ph for her to finish.

The dolomite could have covered up your ph problem until it reached the point of no return.

Just chalk it up to a learning experience. You know what not to do. So do I and anyone that reads this thread. I know it sucks, but if we learn something, it's not all negative.

For the 932nd time I did not use em1 on these boxes bruh! After it messed up purple dodgers couple months back I retired that stuff! I’m thinking either K tox, maybe P from what I put in soil or it’s who the hell knows! Choice 3 gets my vote! :crying:

Oh but also never added dolomite to these cuz only had the pellet stuff and this soil comes ph balanced! Never had this issue before and all of a sudden started having stuff pop up almost every plant since purple dodgers! Only thing I did in all those I didn’t do in the past is the Agsil16 potassium silicate so leaning towards that being issue! May need to attempt a flush on the girl tomorrow and see what happens! Take it to the tub and drown my worms doin a plain old top watering thru the soil and try to flush out the K and P that could be in excess! Then hope for the best!
In other news purple Rolex is beatin up da block:headbang:

Thinking purple Thai stick just got her last watering! She’s looking close enough to where prob Tuesday I’ll move her to the 2x4 for 2 days of darkness! Then I’ll make room on the rack so she can get the :tang:

Aren't you having similar issues with the girl in the cloth pot?
At this point, I would agree with @WildBill about the ph being the main issue. The fine print on a lot of these soils is that the nutes etc are good for about 30 days and then you need to recharge them.
I did lose a young plant that I had put into a 2nd time around pot where I put all new toppings over the old-including the straw and top watered it all in but she died from stem rot. Why I stopped top watering. I will be lightly spraying my toppings with em1 just to inoculate the kashi . Prepping my super sizer box and even without a tarp the mycelium is coming in nicely.

What type of box is this and how does it work if you don't mind me asking?

LOL! It's kinda hard to keep up with specifics. But didn't you add something to the rez this time?
Probally just the form of dolomite you added.
I've used Lots of dolomite of fields. 1lb to a EB is a huge amount. That has to mean this system will trend to a lower PH and the dolomite is there to moderate the Ph. Maybe I need to reach waaaaaaaaay back and try to figure out the chemical reaction when dolomite is exposed to a lower ph. Maybe the reaction is eventually causing a lockout or contributing to a lockout along with what happens to lockout with a lower Ph.
Whatever the cause, I don't think there is a debate on dumping media at the end of a run and re-amending and cooking it before usage again. I think just adding fresh media from the bag will make the best impact on making the media wick well again and immediately raise the Ph through plain ol' dilution. Adding amendments and cooking for a few weeks will also bring the Ph back to normal levels with just regular decomposition from the microbial activity.
