Indoor Brother Mendels Purple Thai Stick OG

If you don't want to catch hell from Mama for using her food blender, a cheap coffee grinder will do the trick

Only new 1 from pulse is their pulse pro meter! No kind of soil readings but adds co2, ppfd, and VOC (volatile organic compounds) for supposedly timing harvest before terps are lost! $500 tho but like $300 for just a ppfd meter and if the terp timer works that would be kick ass! Wish I had the cash to order on Black Friday when they had a prerelease sale where u got 1 of the original pulse meters free with it! I can take the time to write ph down in my journal or on dry erase board schedule!
Hey while I’m thinking for dolomite did u use the pellet stuff or did u get powdered? I have epsom brand but it’s pellets so seems like it takes long enough to work it would be pointless to add during grow cuz still be in pellets by harvest time! May need to order powdered or put pellets in the nutri bullet and grind to powder! May go option 2 later and give it a shot! Takes the gnarly barley to powder and it’s hemp/barley/corn seed so I’d assume it should accomplish what I need! :smokeit:
Use the powder Mark. It's far more available. The pellets are really intended for large scale usage to keep the dust down during application and longer effectiveness. Even with the pellets, I still had to filter mask.
Might be a contributing factor in some of your lock out problems.

Hey both u and @Sour D i am really starting to think that candy dawg has some kinda funky root issue going on! I was letting box totally dry in reservoir before filling it and the roots grew down in there like I’ve never seen before! If I like down fill tube it’s almost a solid mass of roots I see at the bottom! Think all them roots wound up getting some root rot or something cuz never seem deficiency like this!

Any deficiency pros come thru and can point me in the right direction willing to try whatever! Don’t wanna chop her but don’t wanna waste time and space on a lost cause either!

Just thinking out loud---in a perfect world, the roots should air prune themselves. Maybe in drying the rez out, they said screw that, we need water and kept going down looking for it. I think you'll need to fill the rez and top water at least over the wicking spots to get the wicks working again.
Moving forward, I'd put some screen over the soil platform and put your fill tube opposite the drain hole. The screen will help keep roots from growing into the airspace as well as going down the wicks where they could get root rot.
Since $.02 won't get you anything these days, I don't know what the above is worth. lol

Something else is I am also wondering if could be from adding extra P to my soil! Saw MoB tried it out on his last grow but hadn’t tried yet when I added it and no clue if it’s affecting anything since roots obv blew thru it quicker than planned! Only did a tbsp or 2 if I remember correctly but was deep in the soil at opposite end of the box! Think I need to stop trying to add extra unnecessary stuff as some kinda experiment! I ain’t Bill Nye the science guy so prob need to just stick with my HG kashi and water only going forward! No extras in the water and gonna get powdered dolomite too! Already got window screen I can use to cover deck inside box to keep roots out the reservoir!

Since it caused the fading/dying to stop on the purple Thai stick I’m wondering if I should try to lug the junior with candy dawg in it to the bathtub so I can actually flush it! PTS was way worse when I took her for a flush so prob need to figure something out! Guess if need be I could set the junior on a bucket with another under drain hole so I can fill reservoir and then cock her at an angle to run water back out drain hole! Only issue flushing this will be time it takes since will need to actually topwater it so it flushes the medium out or I’d basically just be cleaning the reservoir not flushing the medium!

Yeah Mark. Just flush out the rez. I don't see how it could hurt any at all. Given your location, I'll bet you water is 7 or above. I'd just flush with water set out a day for the chlorine. I wouldn't even Ph it.

I made up my EB's last night. I packed the pockets with unamended Roots organic and then added my amended Roots Organic. I mixed the powdered dolomite in all the media. I'll add my worms, water, compost, bokashi and "shower cap". I've got a fair amount of the Humic acid product mixed my media to help more with the buffering of the Ph. when I made my media.

Beans are soaking. I'm gonna have a full tent! Two HBSS in the EBs and two Meph Sour Stompers and one Purple Kong in 7 gal fabric pots. I was gonna do 2 15 gal, but I guess I bought only one 15 gal last year. It would probably be too crowded anyway.
I'm gonna try to use worms in the 7gal pots, but I don't know how well they'll do in those "small" fabric pots

I think your right. That's all Pedro Grows does. I might just spray the HGMB with some EM1 and coco water going into bloom and back to checking water ph and runoff.
What's weird to me is we both seem to be having the same issue except yours seems to be starting from the bottom and going up where mine seem to be starting at the top and going down. Besides using basically the same nutes and a few different additives, the other common denominator is low ph in the runoff.
Good Luck!

The worms should self regulate to fit the pot. If they are getting enough food or are to crowded, they won't reproduce so much. If they can support more, they'll make more. Too bad humans don't do the same.

I'm not worried about the worms self-regulating in the 7 gal pots, I'm hoping they will just survive and made a decent contribution. The EBs and a 15 gal are pretty easy and the worms are a very important part. It's just more difficult to keep the environment for the worms optimal AND optimal for the girl.
